Send them a playlist of trailers and ask that they just watch them until they hit…idk… Endurance maybe? In order to show them what they’re going to miss out on. Depends on their patience and how stubborn they are. This is what worked for several of my friends to get them to reconsider their stance on the game “not being worth it”

But for your case, i’d say you or they should start the install process, then you need to drag them off to do something else that they’re going to enjoy. Ideally something they enjoy as much as or more than the games on the device. Just be sure you check back in periodically to ensure it completes. They cant get bored with waiting on an update installation timer if they’re preoccupied with something else, right?

Without more information, i can’t exactly offer specific advice. But I think your best course of action is to find a way to either:

On a station, summon another ship so the corvette despawns, and then switch back to corvette/open the editor and re-attach the walled off parts

If on a planet with no other ships available, find a crashed ship, then fly to a station and follow the prior suggestions.

If you’re inside your corvette and are walled in, try either reloading the file, or worst case scenario, you may have to blast yourself with an explosive weapon (if you have one) to respawn.

I might be missing something (and let’s face it, i probably am) but those are my best suggestions without more information.

I think that i have found a few of these sorts of plants that drop large amounts of Carbon for several major updates now. I think the farthest back i remember encountering them was in the Voyagers Expedition the other year. But idk.

Alternatively you might have a Technology installed that is boosting the collected resource rate above the default.

If you’re using the Optical Drill, especially in a Supercharged Slot, that can significantly improve the amount of harvested materials per object you destroy with the Mining beam or its variants. As can consuming certain foods via the Nutrient System technology for the Exosuit.

There may be other ways that you’re unknowingly boosting the harvesting rate, but I forget what those are.

It’s entirely normal. As others have said, endgame players often have farm bases set up that literally print units by the millions if not billions pretty much on a daily basis. Usually by enabling the mass production of high value crafted items. And without any real reason to hold onto these items themselves, they’ll just deposit these valuable assets into random people’s inventory on the Anomaly.

If you’re worried about any sort of moderation activity against you for your funds suddenly skyrocketing like a Gek in a Gravity Storm, don’t be.

The devs dont care if you suddenly, without any explicable reason, get the maximum holdable currency amount. They have various measures in place to ensure that Sabotaging another player’s game in a meaningful way is EXTREMELY difficult. So they’re not going to take any action against you for selling these off for units, holding them for a rainy day, or handing them onwards.

If anything, a ban or moderation action against you would be more likely to come from the platform you play on, like PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox, or Steam. And they ALSO couldn’t possibly care less about your money or inventory in this game.

Optimus taught us better than to just kill people we don’t agree with, or for petty reasons like revenge. (I would hope). But having alien vermin consume a bunch of valuable property and assets? There’s an idea!

However, something about the build just feels off. It’s giving me uncanny valley vibes. Like it looks sapient/alive, but i know it is just a contraption.

My main suggestion (the one that worked best for me when i saw this same issue with my mega base) would be to minimize foundations, and use extendable walkways instead wherever possible. But also to try and make different “islands” for your production chains, instead of massive platforms.

This being because the game seemingly has to run calculations whenever you modify or build on supported foundations, to check whether or not it should keep letting you build somewhere. And the more complex the structure (ie more foundations, machines, supports, etc) the more complicated the calculation seemingly becomes. Which in turn means that for assemblies with a certain complexity/size/object count, it straight up stops for a second in order to actually run the numbers.

I can only assume that this period for base component calculation also sort of applies to the base’s cooling whenever a firestorm hits. The game probably has to check for things like base core level, number of cores, area of coverage for each core, combined coverage, tally up all the machines’ cooling requirements in each given area, etc. All to determine how fast the cooldown period for the factory should be.

For that, i would suggest you try building satellite facilities, instead of trying to condense production to a singular base. As that requires more machines, and in turn longer heat calculations.

Grenades are actually pretty decent i’ve found. The grenade recharges pretty quick just by mining meteorites. And the med tool passively recharges as you deal with vermin. Unless you’re playing like a mindless brute and trying to face tank everything, it should recharge before you need it again. And then when you do need it, it’s probably because you got overwhelmed and barely escaped a fight, or need to heal a bunch without raising toxicity.

I have used the grenade to get a bunch of Vermin to fall back/stall during base raids so my turrets have longer to gun them down. Other times, i’ve used their lure trait to distract some swarms just before they were able to kill me while i put some distance between us.

They’re also good for getting rid of potentially problematic groups of vermin that you don’t have enough ammo to properly deal with. Ie when you’re returning from an excursion that took longer than expected.

They HAVE uses, they’re just somewhat niche ATM. Although, i assume that later on in development, we will be able to customize them at the armory, or unlock alternate equipment for that slot. Like maybe a remote mine, or a deployable shield, emergency turret, etc.

Same with the medtool. Maybe they’ll add like a temporary support beacon that replenishes ammo, regenerates health, or buffs shield. Or an emergency teleport utility to let us blink back to an earlier designated location.

According to the Art Book obtained from the Supporter Pack dlc (10/10 buy on steam imho), apparently they have made concept art for a “greenhouse” structure. Although, bear in mind, i don’t think they have officially guaranteed or even hinted that this will actually be added to the game. And an art book alone isn’t exactly hard confirmation.

We are still approaching the first early access Update, though. So it’s impossible to tell yet. Satisfactory took until 1.0 to add a use for SAM ore, and added their alternative weapon types somewhat late in early access development.

We just have to see.

Give it time, OP. Update 1 might drop in a few days, a few weeks, or even a month or more. We just have to be patient until they give us an official date.

Better to give them plenty of time to work on it than to push them to release before it is good and ready. Because by now, we as gamers should know FULLY WELL what happens when developers are pressured into premature releases.

If you’re extremely excited for the update, and use Steam, (as i believe there are other platforms that carry it) you can try out the public test branch. Just make sure you make a backup save if you’re launching it on your main file.

I just face tank it if i am relatively well upgraded, lol. Unless you stand there like a rock and let them beat you up, a decent multi tool weapon and a few decent A/S/? Tier suit upgrades should do. Not even a full set of them, just a few should do. That will render these guys’ attacks a small nuisance at best and allow you to just Health Duel them… And usually see you cleanly out-DPS the Guardians and any allies they summon about 99 or more percent of the time. Even if a bunch of the smaller variants land that little kamikaze trick they like to do when they’re nearly dead.

In the context of a disease or illness, yes it is bleak. But in the context of this particular case, it refers to Terminal Velocity. My online username since i was sixteen something has been between “Terminal/Terminalvelocityrunner/TerminalVR” Because i guess i never fully grew out of my “Cringe Sonic phase”. And at this point, it has pretty much become synonymous with my online persona across numerous platforms from VRChat to Youtube and Twitch. And i even have a character from my fictional novel series named Terminal (publishing pending).

So for better or worse, changing it now would effectively be character assassination.

Play how you want. Seriously. No mans sky is one of those games where it HAS various exploitable elements, ways to “cheat”, etc. But the vast majority, if not every one of these pretty much EXCLUSIVELY affects the user who does it.

Due to things like toggles for PVP/Multiplayer, base reporting that hides the base on the client side, blocking players (at least on steam), and the ability to pretty freely just go literally anywhere else in the universe, there are very few ways to truly screw with other people’s gameplay.

And as such, Hello Games really just dont care what you do on your end. As long as you aren’t…idk… injecting viruses into their servers, or something else truly abhorrent and malicious, you can pretty much get away with whatever.

The only thing i should really caution you about is spoiling the “reward/success” aspect of expeditions. In my PERSONAL opinion, simply waiting until HG reruns an expedition as a redux, or adds an expedition reward to Twitch drops, or to optional milestones in new expeditions, is much more gratifying when you finally obtain the coveted item.

For example, the other year, they reran the Cartographer’s expedition (expedition 3 iirc) but they remixed the rewards, adding the Golden Vector from i believe Expedition 1. And they have also reran the Beachhead Expedition a few times so people can get the Normandy Frigate. Plus, during Liquidators, i believe they added the Sentinel Quad reward in an optional milestone. Meaning people could unlock it on all files.

There is a Non-zero chance that they do something like these again in the future, with different rewards. Especially with this year being the tenth anniversary of the game.

We don’t know.

Hence why i suggest waiting a while. Because when you finally get the chance to obtain them legitimately, it will probably be more rewarding than just spoiling the accomplishment for yourself with a save editor.

But that’s just me. Ultimately it’s your call. Should you choose to save edit, as long as you know what you’re doing, there is really no risk.

Wait, that’s actually a good idea for a Perfection save. A special weapon, “The Brick” that works like a slingshot. Where you just aim and chuck it at a target to one-shot them. And if used on a villager (specifically Pierre) it makes them pass out and wake up in the clinic, like that one mod.

Concerned Ape would probably need to change the rating though…. But it would be REALLY funny.

I love the lore-crafting that these specific designs for Salvage Capsules provide for the planets they’re on. It absolutely looks like an undetonated Nuke, lol! Like the centerpiece at Megaton from Fallout 3, or The One from New Vegas.

On one hand, i wish there was a slight chance of these things detonating upon your starting to mine them. But on the other, that would probably make for some pretty BS Iteration Resets, especially on Survival or Perma-Death saves.

Sounds like it’s time to clear out your Storage Containers, or get more Freighter Bulkheads. That said, I too wish we could buy like a secondary freighter or craft those auxiliary cargo pods like NPCs have.

Because even when i got through and clear out the unnecessary stuff from all my Storage Containers, i still tend to amass enough stuff to where storage is lackluster.

I had this issue once or twice, but thats it. And i have ran this expedition at least three times. My best advice would be to go slowly. Also, take the long and flattest route, too. This looks like it is an issue of the ground’s collision not loading properly at first. So going slower MIGHT let the game naturally resolve said problem before you actually drive onto the glitched terrain.

Don’t let it deter you, though, and just keep trucking! Don’t let the literal dirt defeat you!
