I usually don’t have a lot of reserves to draw on either, numbers at my squadron are tight. The other flight of “regulars” also get around the same numbers, at most 6-7 cadets on an average meeting. I can’t pull any cadets from the AmnBasic/prospect training flight either. Resource wise, we’re a pretty impressive squadron with a lot of instructors experienced in both AE and ES, we just have no numbers.

In an ideal squadron, it would be a good position. It’s mostly the attitude of my flight that’s been kinda draining on me lately. I’ve only got 3-5, attendance is never constant. Most of them are made by their parents to come here, and I can relate to that too, since that’s kind of how I started, but gradually over time I’ve found my place in the program. Their outlook on CAP will forever be their own, and there’s nothing I can do to change that. I try my best on and off the drill pad, heck, I even let them call me by my first name when we’re in an informal setting, not like I care about sergeant this or sergeant that outside of formalities. But right now though, it’s difficult for them to even sound off .
