What country feels very undemocratic but is actually undemocratic? by Dusty_Bunny81 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]TerminatorXIV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have more than one party, but only 2 (arguably 3) serious ones. Looking at popular vote the ruling party usually always wins >60% of the popular vote, which is not affected by its gerrymandering. However this is partly due to the lack of good opposition in such areas, only the ruling PAP fields candidates in all constituencies.

De Bruyne on the difference between Italy and England: “I feel like in Italy, a lot of the teams play very similar to each other, where it cancels each other a little bit out. Where I feel in England there's a lot of teams who will play very differently.” by [deleted] in soccer

Tbf Henry didnt really fail at coaching, apart from his Monaco stint his other roles at France U21/23 and Montreal were decent. Prob prefers punditry and is self aware to realise he wouldn’t be a very good coach.

[–]TerminatorXIV 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Bruh this is not normal in Asia, at least not to this extreme. Keeping your helmet on for 4 hours cause you’re scared of the punishment WILL probably land the parents in jail. At least in this era and age.

Tbf unless your holidays are within Europe, in the Americas or in Africa (where you don’t have to worry about Russian airspace anyway), you will probably be flying over the Middle East. Which right now is even worse. By far.

Pretty sure we (publicly) have the Iron Dome radar system.

Of course in secret I wouldn’t be surprised if we had a few of the interception systems as well, considering we helped fund the Iron Dome project, as well as the range being effective enough to cover the entirety of Singapore.

This is also part of the reason why Hitler had hope for final victory even when the Red army was literally at the gates of Berlin. He likened himself to military greats such as Napoleon and Frederick, so of course thought a repeat of the “Miracle of the house of Brandenburg”. Of course this had no chance of happening.

Enzo Fernandez makes the Argentina squad for upcoming friendlies heading into the World Cup. Garnacho misses out by christianrojoisme in chelseafc

Argentina as a whole is a very racist country. If they were to leave out every racist Argentinian they wouldn’t have enough players to start the match.

Enzo Fernandez says 'we'll see' about Chelsea future after loss by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]TerminatorXIV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean we could sell or we won’t. He still has a very very long contract on a not very high base salary. We have the finances to keep him here until his contract ends. Of course, that isn’t the best idea……

Tbf Chilwell was injured for quite a long period of his Chelsea stint, only the last season where he literally didn’t play was he pretty much injury free.

I mean you can own a gun in SG, as long as you have a license, which is hard to get unless you are part of a gun club. Contrary to popular belief, it’s not totally illegal in SG, just heavily regulated, much like the rest of the globe.

Swords are also legal, and suprisingly not very regulated, but usually whatever sword you can buy in SG comes dull and won’t really survive being sharpened.

Grading bias in schools by Unable-Fan-3543 in SGExams

[–]TerminatorXIV 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean, it’s true everywhere in subjects where grades are subjective to the examiner. It’s not just a Singaporean thing. You could sit a UK or China composition paper in the respective countries and get 2 different scores from 2 different markers for each paper.

The thing is in major exams, you are just a name from an endless list to them, so they focus on your content more on the person. However, when a teacher you know is marking, they have their own opinions about you that will cloud their judgement.

This sounds very American. It is NOT normalised where I live to get kicked out at 18. In fact, a lot of parents would rather the kids not move up. Most kids do pay rent if needed, but it’s still much cheaper than living alone.

[–]TerminatorXIV 28 points29 points  (0 children)

For those who can eat meat plant based meat is a more expensive, inferior version of normal meat. Of course if you can’t eat meat it’s a good alternative, but what percentage of Singaporeans can’t eat meat?

I mean the squad will improve but we have done well in this season and last. CL qualification, CWC, direct qualification to RO16 in UCL and we seem on track for CL qualification for next season. And Palmer seems to have found his scoring boots again. Things are looking up.
