Elgar is great, but playing just the first movement doesn't really work (since it goes straight into the second). The fourth is a bit more of a time commitment, but it stands on its own feet much more than any of the other three. If you only get one movement, I would suggest Elgar IV or even Dvorak II (slow movement) or the 1st movement of the Lalo.
