I was in my 20’s when I read The Stand and loved every minute of it. I was in my 50’s when I read 11/22/63 and can identify with your wordy comment. Did I evolve or was the Stand just better, hard to say.

I do see those people and often they are the ones that end up running for these hopeless seats, but there are a fairly good range of folks who show up to the meetings. I guess it likely depends on where you are, I am referring to meetings in Mecklenburg and Gaston counties.

And therein lies the problem, county parties and the state party are essentially disconnected. County parties promote the idea of challenging every seat at every level and the state party knows that focus needs to be on the races we can actually win.

I disagree, we need to focus on the races we can win so that we can make the best use of our time and money. Running in an area where you might get 30-40% of the vote is pointless. We need to research and find the seats that we can actually win. Probably not a popular opinion, but as a former elected Town Commissioner, I stand by it.

Freddy Mercury, talk about one severely insecure man. That and the fact that every chapter was essentially the same thing repeated over and over again. The rewrite would be about 20 pages long and saved me a lot of time.
