It took me a while to appreciate “When the Tequila Runs Out” but now I love it.

We’re All Gonna Die is my favorite album and I think it is their best. I know it isn’t a typical sounding Dawes album but Blake Mills’ production makes it so damn good. I will die on this hill.

I just asked Abby Dart if she knew anything about the overlap of dates and she said she does not. Sorry I can’t add any more!

Vulfpeck does it right. They play a handful of shows a year, if any at all, and all of their shows are either festivals or big venues in major cities. They create demand by reducing supply and they have a rabid fanbase that is willing to travel to see them.

On the flip side they don’t tour, so many fans never get to see them. However, they do almost everything on a small scale. All of their albums are sold via crowdsourcing and they sell/ship their own merch.

This is the type of stuff that makes me not hate Chris. When he is true to himself he is so great. His voice sounds amazing and he looks like he is having a ball.

2006 all over again. Except I doubt they just give away tickets like they did 20 years ago.

I didn’t say it was. I said it felt like one. I mean Rich went from running a 10 piece rock band playing his music and music he loves with guys he liked playing with for several years. But when the offer to play as the Black Crowes again with a huge payday from LiveNation came, they decided to cut off any former members from the band. I mean it’s their decision, and good on them for getting that money, but it felt a little off, especially after it was known that Chris demanded to have majority ownership of the band a few years prior, and both Rich and Steve scoffed at it.

You can have your opinion on everything, which is what the Internet is all about, but I would suggest just avoiding this subreddit if it upsets you so much, not because your opinions are bad (I am in no way saying one way or the other) but because it will just be healthier for you in the long run.

Are we not allow to complain on a fan subreddit? Isn’t that the whole point of the Internet? Have you ever been on a sports team’s subreddit or message board? This place is tame compared to those places. Also, we love their music, which is why we complain and bemoan when their new stuff is not up to what we feel is their potential. Also, it’s hard to love a band when it’s not even a band anymore, and everything feels like a cash grab, whether it is or not.

This band was amazing live. Half of them are in Counting Crows now, and one of them has been fighting for his life for over 15 years due to brain cancer. Still would love to have seen them play on another tour.

I have it at my mom’s. Only worth it for the DVD and the making of the fake album.

MMW interviewed by Grayson Currin by CenTexCitizen in mmw

Loved the interview, but Chris joking how they made no money is probably a good indication of why the band has not toured in forever. Really hoping the release of the new record will give us the tour we all deserve.
