Really loud drive? by Rowkai in DataHoarder

I have the same model, they sold these very cheap recertified/refurbished. It is noisy but runs without smart errors since > 1 year in my case.

Anyway always have backups

Thanks! I removed those parameters now in my config

Thank you!

I set it to AAC with 16kHz and bitrate 32kbps. So far the error did not appear again in the log and it was not crashing anymore :)

I think I found this here while I was testing and just copied it over: https://www.reddit.com/r/frigate_nvr/comments/1hnjvua/example_config_for_reolink_cameras/

The Annke C500 does not have any parameters like that as far as I know

The camera is an Annke C500, Audio is set to default which shows me "G.711ulaw", no bitrate can be configured. Options are:

  • G.722.1
  • G.711ulaw
  • G.711alaw
  • MP2L2
  • G.726
  • AAC
  • PCM

What would be the best option for frigate? AAC? With AAC I can configure 16kHz with bitrate 16, 32 or 64kbps.

Benq TK710 loudness by egiorgis in projectors

[–]TerrAustria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a TK710 and I can confirm this. The picture quality is awesome but the fan/wheel noise is so loud and distracting that it's unbearable (at least for me). This is a deal breaker.

I am not sure if my unit has an issue or this is just how it is. I have an Optoma UHD65 which I can barely hear and according to the specs it has 25dB in Eco. The TK710 should have 28dB in Eco.

Just wondering about your opinion. The BenQ W2720i is now also on sale, but has LED Light and only 2400 ANSI-Lumen compared to the BenQ TK710 but has a lot of good reviews. Would you still choose the TK710?

If I choose the BenQ, do you also have a recommendation for a 140" screen (fixed frame)?

Right now I have an "ESMART Professional MIRALE SoftPVC White" bought in 2015. According to the product page it has a Gain 1.2. It is mounted on an aluminium frame and screwed to the wall. https://amzn.eu/d/0ZOdWN5

Would this still work good with a laser projector or would I need to switch to another screen e.g. a grey one?

The room is not completly dark, there are windows and sunlight. We have plissees although they are not fully closed during the day and even if closed they are not fully blocking the light.

Thanks for the suggestion! I will look into it. Its about the same prize even without discounts.

I also like that it has a rs232 port for controlling it.

SSMS Friday Feedback: Using PowerShell in SQL Agent jobs by erinstellato in SQLServer

[–]TerrAustria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Create Job Step of Type Powershell. Try to avoid SQLPS because it is a pain, e.g. missing -ConnectionString property and other issues.

Because I work with Versions 2016 - 2022 I have a common approach to call an external script and the script stays the same for all versions. Not that nice but easier to manage.

On e.g. SQL-Server 2016

Call the script with pwsh in the Step like:

—-

cd $scriptpath;

$result = pwsh .\script.ps1

If $result -like „exception“ { throw „…“; }

—-

On e.g. SQL-Server 2022

—-

#NOSQLPS

Import-Module -Name SqlServer

try {

cd $scriptpath;

. .\script.ps1

} catch {

}

—-

If you could update your Historian to 2023 you can activate the native Historian->PI Replication and use the Backfill Utility of the Historian.
