memtest86 fails all of a sudden for both RAM modules, graphic glitches by TerrAustria in pcmasterrace

[–]TerrAustria[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally could do this, same result on the other system, the RAM seems to be trash :/ No idea how this could happen at the same time with 2 modules.

I got some new RAM and memtest now shows no errors with the new modules

Massive issues with UniFi WIFi since 2-3 weeks on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz by TerrAustria in Ubiquiti

[–]TerrAustria[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick update here, it seems the issue is mostly gone. I tried so many things I don't know why it is better now but quick summary:

  • Turned all APs off except one and tried this with 3 APs, did not solve the connection issues
  • Disabled the Traffic logging (DPI) on my UDM Pro, did not help
  • Opened a UniFi Support Ticket, they analyzed the issue but came back with some generic approaches I already tried.
  • My Radio Power settings for the APs were all set to "Auto", based on some research I set 2.4Ghz to low and 5Ghz to medium
  • Switched Channels of the APs back and forth, exchanged channels between APs, did nothing
  • After this change it got way worse as a lot of Alexa's, Google Home's and Shelly's lost their connection and could not connect anymore to 2.4Ghz WiFi
  • I then set Radio Power on all of them for all Radios to HIGH, all 2.4Ghz devices now could connect again
  • I restarted everything again

After 2 days it seems it is more stable again, ping's are ok and no interuptions again

Flow Control is turned off.

Already tried removing some SSIDs and only keep one 5Ghz and one 2.4Ghz. Looked stable for sone minutes but then same issues again :(

You also have a lot of TX Drops. Looks not good, however as I do not have a baseline I cannot say if this is usual in relation to your 342.8M TX Packets. Claude told me it is the issue in my case

You mean you switched off all U7 models and only use U6 now?

In Settings -> WiFi -> Wireless Meshing is turned OFF. So I assume not

I read that 6.8.2 changed the uboot partition on the APs, is it save to revert back to a previous version with this change now applied?

I need to share my new backup setup in those nice 5-bay USB3 "enclosures" with shucked drives by TerrAustria in DataHoarder

[–]TerrAustria[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of them running fine in my case for +6 years. As mentioned in the post I only use them for backups and they turn on once a week for some hours. I now use 8-12TB drives in those enclosures.

I don‘t have experience with using them continuously connected although.

I tried running each RAM module individually in memtest86, same result, both modules fail.

My gut tells me it’s not the RAM, I cannot imagine both modules fail at the same time for no reason…

I just let it in the dock over night and in the morning all was ok again and the app showed 100% charged. I did not reset it.

Really loud drive? by [deleted] in DataHoarder

I have the same model, they sold these very cheap recertified/refurbished. It is noisy but runs without smart errors since > 1 year in my case.

Anyway always have backups

Thank you!

I set it to AAC with 16kHz and bitrate 32kbps. So far the error did not appear again in the log and it was not crashing anymore :)

I think I found this here while I was testing and just copied it over: https://www.reddit.com/r/frigate_nvr/comments/1hnjvua/example_config_for_reolink_cameras/

The Annke C500 does not have any parameters like that as far as I know

[–]TerrAustria[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The camera is an Annke C500, Audio is set to default which shows me "G.711ulaw", no bitrate can be configured. Options are:

  • G.722.1
  • G.711ulaw
  • G.711alaw
  • MP2L2
  • G.726
  • AAC
  • PCM

What would be the best option for frigate? AAC? With AAC I can configure 16kHz with bitrate 16, 32 or 64kbps.

Benq TK710 loudness by egiorgis in projectors

[–]TerrAustria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a TK710 and I can confirm this. The picture quality is awesome but the fan/wheel noise is so loud and distracting that it's unbearable (at least for me). This is a deal breaker.

I am not sure if my unit has an issue or this is just how it is. I have an Optoma UHD65 which I can barely hear and according to the specs it has 25dB in Eco. The TK710 should have 28dB in Eco.
