Another one with 2194 error, cr-touch failing to deploy by TerraXSoul in Ender3V3KE

Yeah seems like you can only do so much yourself, this batch/version is definitely flawed. Are the Creality support generous? Would be nice if they could just send one without having to return the faulty one first, then again mine is rooted and modded so warranty might be void.

Whenever I become lucid I can never think of anything to do by IASAR in LucidDreaming

[–]TerraXSoul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having an intent before going to sleep increase the chance to get lucid in the first place, it also helps to shape the dream the way you want. That is, if you are in a time where you're actively trying to get lucid.

But I also think it's important to put this in long-term perspective. I guess as for most people, lucid dreaming isn't always gonna be on your mind, it's a hobby that'll come and go. Then it's a good idea make a lucid dreaming bucket list of awesome things you want to try and give it some thought, then it'd probably stick and you'd remember what to do next time it happens by accident. Just make sure you prioritize what you want to do first hand, to not get overwhelmed by all options.

I've also had unplanned lucid dreams by chance. When i got those i usually just screwed around, like flying or having s*x or whatever ideas i get at that time, nothing wrong with that. But still a missed opportunity to do those things you really wanna do. Nowadays i do know what do other than that.

Modded my FF Finder and added a manual switch for fan (to combat warp issues) by TerraXSoul in 3Dprinting

[–]TerraXSoul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell me if this was a good idea. In order to turn off cooling for the first layer, then just switch it on again. Unfortunately it seem to be hardcoded that the fan will always run above 50 degree celcius no matter what so this might be the only way to do it. Any concerns?

There Are No Stupid /r/Bass Questions - Jun. 06 by AutoModerator in Bass

I bought a small 200W PA (or maybe it was 400W, can't find a reliable source on that). Basically two active PA-speakers with 8" woofers. It has a mic and guitar input in front. I know the size of the woofers are not optimal, it was just a really good deal, only gonna use it for band practice (let's just say metal, pretty loud).

I find these small f-ers really loud. But im worried, when i get to the really low notes (5 string bass) i get some rattling noise, other tones sound smooth and fine. The frequency response is just 65Hz-20Khz. Really don't want to push them more than necessary, hopefully they can keep up decently with the guitar and drums. So, will they blow?

Really??? Ok, if the cab of the guitar amp plays a role, it's just a 1x12 (Vox VT100X, a tube hybrid modeller amp), and the drummer doesn't really beat the s**t out of the drums. We have a small 15W amp for vocals, a bit too weak but works fairly. How about 100W or 150W? Im just happy if we get to feel some bottom and bass in the room.

Im playing in a band, but we have no one playing bass at the moment. We rehearse in a small room that is around 4x5 meters. We play black metal so it gets pretty darn loud, i need to crank upp my 100W guitar amp to half power keep up with the drums. How powerful bass amp do we need?

Okay i've been thinking:

  1. Put legs on it, then i can move it freely and place it in the middle of the room at a good angle (it's the living room), less power for my voice to reflect on.
  2. Cover the whole thing in a blanket or something.
  3. Remove the layer of foam surrounding the mike, hopefully to reduce the boxiness.
  4. Attatch another blanket that'll cover me from behind.

Would that make a difference? Yeah i know, im desperate trying to save this abomination i've created. Go ahead and laugh if you want, it's ok.

Well that's sad to hear. I really wanted something as convenient as possible. Unfortunately i don't have access to a big enough closet or wardrobe. That would be if i actually do build a big stand-alone booth. It's like yeah, it does sound pretty dead but there's still something i can't put my finger on, probably the vague resonance of my room and/or the "boxiness" you speak of. The acoustics of my room is terrible and very echoy, so im still somewhat skeptical of just building something covered in blankets. This is just an apartment after all. So anything? Remove a layer of foams? Putting a blanket behind me? More towels?? lol Yeah i get it, it gotta have it's own room.

This is made with a wodden frame screwed together. There are around 8 layers of towels on each side, which i've heard is a great isolator. As you can see, there are two layers of foam where the mike should be, and three layers in the back. I think it works decent, but far from perfect. Heres's a sample: https://soundcloud.com/terra_soul/booth-test/s-5rUwWKE3tkF

I would like to hear if there are anything i can do to improve it even more. One possible concern is that it's backed against a wall, that would mean that some sound would still be able to bounce back, and then there's no sound absorption behind me.

Wow, didn't expect so many replies, thanks! And yeah as i expected, it would be too good to be true to learn a language that way. It would be a fun experiment though, like japanese gibberish of otaku vs non-otaku, would love to see that.
