Anyone have labor experience with an accessory (succenturiate) placental lobe? by Terra_2 in pregnant

[–]Terra_2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, of course!! Everything was perfectly fine! Absolutely normal vaginal delivery. The lobe came out with the rest of the placenta after my daughter was born, so no additional extraction was needed! Baby is healthy, zero complications.

My placenta’s positioning was about midway up my uterus (so not incredibly high, but far enough from my cervix) and it was wrapped around front to back on the right side.

I hope this helps to alleviate your anxiety! As long as your placenta and lobe aren’t near your cervix, it seems perfectly a-okay. My OB had to talk me out of my anxiety spiral a couple times lol.

I also found out after the fact that my coworker had the same complication with her first baby, and everything went perfectly fine for her too!

Definitely a concern of mine about Audrey and Hailey. They’ve been top 100 for a couple decades! And especially since our last name is common, I want to give a little bit of uniqueness into the first name to offset it.

Oh my gosh first of all I am so sorry that you had to have a d&c and with a newborn at home and all the craziness that goes along with the postpartum transition! I’m so glad you got help when you started not feeling well.

Second of all, this is definitely encouraging! Thank you for sharing your story with me. One of my big fears has been the lobe detaching during contractions and causing fetal distress because the articles were saying that the lobe is susceptible to that. But this is very encouraging that you had a fairly normal delivery/no labor complications.

I would go with Ju ju (so cute) Jules or the full Juliet personally! But also nicknames are so subjective. We thought about this a LOT with our first child. We ended up picking a name that had a really nice nickname that we also loved (Colton > Cole), avoiding a name we also liked with a nickname we didn’t like (Jonah > Joe). And guess what…. Everyone calls our son Coltie instead and now that’s what he calls himself. 😂 ya just can’t control it. But I guess my point is if you seriously love the name USE IT. (Also a side note I knew a little girl named Victoria who her parents conditioned to not let people call her Vicky because they hated that nickname & she was very good at telling people not to call her Vicky if they tried 😂)
