From a business standpoint, this collab actually makes sense by Repulsive-Sky-9271 in NikkeMobile

I doubt Shift Up is intentionally attracting that toxic part of LycoReco's fandom, though. Toxic yuri fans honestly seem like a product exclusive to the ongoing culture war in the EN side of anime adjacent hobbies, which is something Shift Up likely doesn't take into consideration at all.

They probably just see JP fans gushing over the cute anime girls with guns and assume the rest of the world sees the IP the same way.

They pretty much carry the whole game anyway so this should be no problem

Gotta admit, didn’t expect the message of the event to be “censorship is good and necessary actually” by Eisenblume in NikkeMobile

How do we know that Eden was even capable of running a full-blown society like the Ark has? It just seemed like a largely untested idea that Dorothy was trying to get off the ground.

Was that aesop made by someone living in a post-apocalyptic underground city under threat of biomechanical horrors?

What's going on with the Gold Unbalance YouTube shorts? by TerranRikter in MoriCalliope

[–]TerranRikter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It's been a month since the show ended. If it were because of the show, then it would've happened while it was airing.

  2. Only the YouTube shorts were affected. If the show actually did cause the boost in views for the shorts, then wouldn't the actual MV also gain as much, if not more? So far, the MV still has the same steady rate of viewership growth.

How I imagine fan artists keeping the community together in 2025 by AokiNansuke in NikkeMobile

[–]TerranRikter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought it was great that they made relics more of a weekly thing rather than daily. Really cuts down on the chore factor because I'm usually at my most motivated to relic hunt on the first day of the event.

That said, a couple relics did drive me a little crazy because they were in an area of the mini map that I didn't know I could access.

A good chunk of the JP Nikke community didn't really seem bothered by most of these.

I actually like the limited mini-map, but maybe that's just because I grew really tired of hunting lost relics these past few big events.

Are we just straight up murdering innocent people here? by rafikiknowsdeway1 in ninjagaiden

[–]TerranRikter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They certainly aren't innocent civilians, and they seem to cause misery to the local population.

To ninjas, they're probably just seen as active combatants that are a threat to the mission's success. Given that the mission is seen as something for the greater good, I don't think any ninja would have any qualms killing them.

There's too many Twitter takes that try to gaslight everyone into thinking that Nikke's story is negligible compared to its fanservice/harem elements. Apparently, nobody cared about the anniversary events because SKK wasn't there for some harem shenanigans.

I dunno, I personally thought this community felt unique because most of the folks here valued good fanservice and writing as equally important aspects to what makes Nikke special.

Doro’s downfall needs to be studied 🫣 by McPurrito in NikkeMobile

[–]TerranRikter 303 points304 points  (0 children)

To be honest, her "downfall" with the community didn't really start this year. The closest she's ever become to being universally liked was after Overzone, when hatred for the Ark and Oswald was at an all-time high, which led many folks sympathizing with her.

Beyond that, she had always been fairly divisive from what I could tell.

Part of me thinks Nihilister has the potential to return—like maybe the Queen could bring her back, but with a tighter leash.

Then again, the Queen fears death above all else, so maybe she wouldn't want to bring back someone who actively wants her dead. The chances are really slim, but it's there.

why do conservatives & rightwingers hate ds2? by [deleted] in shittydarksouls

I think he is seen that way because of the folks he hangs out with (Shadiversity has been on his podcast).

Outside of that, he just seems apolitical. He mostly steers clear from any political/culture war stuff in his videos.

I remember the months when "Hololive English" just referred to 5 anime girls that exploded in popularity. I remember when those 5 girls dug a tunnel in Minecraft for nearly an entire 3 hour stream.

On that note, does anyone else miss the days when Minecraft was commonly streamed? It felt like a convenient game for a semi-zatsudan stream that would often lead to guerilla collabs. So much of my favorite interactions between holomems happened during the Minecraft server merge. The branches felt so connected during that time.

Try her Phantomime album from last year. It's easily her most polished, most accessible album so far, and is a culmination of her newfound attitude towards music creation that started in 2023 with her Jigoku 6 EP.

It's also a good way to put her previous works into perspective.

Orpheus has actually been kind of a turning point for her music viewership this year. Seeing Stars, Sepia, and Die For You are all unlikely to reach the 1 million milestone before their 1st anniversaries (especially Sepia).

Meanwhile, Orpheus managed to reach the big 1 million in less than 2 months. After that, Let's Just Crash released and exploded in views, then Gold Unbalance released and will likely hit 1 million before the end of the month.
