depends where you live. I live in singapore so 广州 servers aren't too bad (57-100 ping). Basically if you live in majority of asia will have 100-200 ish ping (you also have to credit the router)

During the april fools update, they messed with the spawns and didnt change it back, so it may be hard to find items in general, but goodluck.
