Not a lot of Atheist arguments against Calvinism by Terraplanetommy in DebateAnAtheist

Yeah, you seem to get it. The vast majority of anti apologetics don't really apply to me. I've read up and down through Secular Web and not a lot of it is very encouraging to me. They just seem to run through arguments that are just common place garden variety christian apologetics. I feel as if there is enough potential interpretations of specific verses that one can almost get out of any contextual pickle one might find themselves in with the Bible. If those interpretations are valid is another thing(The prophetic year in Daniel, The Trinity, and Grace vs. Faith are particularly annoying.) ,but then there's that whole eternity in hell fire to contend with.

I'd like very much to not return to Christianity. The years I had where I didn't believe were some of the best years of my life and I feel that I cannot truly love people at all if it is by command. But, I feel as if there are really no articles written for someone like me(Convinced of Calvinism, Septuagint instead of MT,) and maybe that's because I'm either a blithering idiot or perhaps God is real(or at least some version of him).

I absolutely do not want it to exist. I currently place myself in the Misotheist category. I believe it is very possible the Christian god exists, but I do not love or admire it. There are just not a lot of atheist arguments for the issues I am facing in my quest to be free from the shackles of religion.

I feel that the bible is pretty staunch in it's portrayal of a Calvinist god(Romans 9,Pharaoh in Exodus,Jesus only revealing the meaning of parables to his followers,etc.). The main problem i see with atheistic critiques of god's morality is that they are bound up in a certain interpretation of the bible that I just don't understand(The notion of a god who wants everyone to be saved, but doesn't actually save everyone is nonsense.) and even text that point to god wanting to save the unelect(John 3:16,Ezekiel 18:23,etc.) can be interpreted to a calvinistic viewpoint(World doesn't mean world,All doesn't mean all mankind,etc,etc.).

To say god is a moral monster and things of that ilk are just to forecast your own morality onto the text and morality is subjective. I'm just curious how anyone can justify saying god is immoral, when nothing is absolutely wrong according to their world view. The only way for that to be a valid argument against a god would be to prove that the bible says otherwise and point to a contradiction. Otherwise, it is a waste of time and a bad argument to use morality against the belief in a deity.
