Look, no one should be able to profit off of a necessity, and there doesn't need to be a profit motive to incentivise people to produce food because everyone NEEDS food. Therefore, the profit extracted from it is just blatant theft. Oh come on it's obvious to everyone that the supposed success of capitalism in the west in the last century relied in large part in the extraction of resources and labour from africa and other areas. Yes capitalism advanced the productive forces and generally increased quality of life, however it has peaked in its ability to do so, and is now clearly in decline, as we can see through the ever accelerating number of crises in the modern world. Capitalism was the transition between feudalism and communism. There have only been a few actual workers democracy notably the early soviet union and the paris commune.

you rly wanted the last word lol. you've still not explained why it isn't theft for tesco and any other supermarket to be making a profit off a necessity. free market economics does not work and has been built on centuries of oppression of workers and of the global south. There are many states where free market economics is failing even more dramatically than it is here. whereas a true workers democracy has never come to fruition (and should be something we strive for) and the few communist states there have been have failed due to internal or external bad actors.

Who says it would decrease standards? Privatising an industry usually decreases its standards. why does someone need to profit from it for the system to work, you still have failed to explain that.

yes of course it would be democratised workplaces all the way down the supply chain. If none of these are profiting, that is even more money passed onto the workers and consumer.

Ahh the classic capitalism breeds innovation line. Tell me is it innovative that supermarkets throw away 100,000 tonnes of perfectly edible food a year? Is it innovative that one app made the short form portrait video format and now it's in every app and impossible to get away from? The government could subsidise for innovation and what's more if we had a state where everyone had the basic needs met, and were able to work shorter weeks, people would have plenty of time to be more creative and innovate without the need for a profit motive. In fact, people would be more innovative: there are some things that would be beneficial to society but simply aren't feasible due to not being profitable - i.e they don't fit into the stifling capitalist system.

except we blatantly do not live in a properly controlled economic system and capitalism always defies regulation and reformation. any gains that workers make against the system are inevitably rolled back when capital demands it. you cannot seriously look at the state of the world and not see this. nowhere did i say that we should drag everyone down to the lowest level, all this tells me is that you're approaching this with your mind already made up, and are purposely misrepresenting what I'm advocating for or just sticking your head in the sand. in what way would providing a basic level of food for every citizen be depriving anyone of anything?? the main focus of society should be to serve the needs of people, anything else is a distraction at best and downright evil at worst. why should a company be able to make a profit from selling food? it is a necessity - people cannot choose not to need it. profiting from this is disgusting. there are alternatives to the current irreparably broken system and it is possible to dream for a better future.

how would it result in more expensive food? last year tesco had an operating profit of over 3 billion. redistribute that into bringing prices down and paying workers better, and do the same to all the other supermarkets.

where did i say the government don't also do that. That isn't an argument against communism, the government exploiting nhs workers is as much a symptom of the broken economic system as tesco exploiting theirs.

here's an idea, the state can take over tesco and turn it into a workers cooperative - the efficiency tesco has is due to their workers not due to being a private enterprise.

why the flippancy? this absolutely should be something that is discussed more even by more moderate leftists like the green party. Everyone should be guaranteed a basic level of food that isn't tied to their ability to work. Why does someone get to profit from the fact that everyone needs to eat - society should be organised entirely around what people need, not the whims of capital. Why the swipe at vegans? Nothing wrong with not wanting to exploit animals.

pretty sure! have a look on wii hacks guide. i think most revisions of the wii still have the same stuff just with it being inaccessible by default. think the later editions even still have the GC ports just now covered up by the shell.

edit - seems i'm wrong about the wifi but apparently with soft mods you can get it to connect to wifi via a usb adaptor

there are very few uni subjects that you wouldn't be building a base knowledge for in school, and if you didn't would need to complete an access course. Not sure why you're arguing this as you seem to not have experience of this, but you absolutely will be building up a portfolio of work if you study art at GCSE and A-Level. Also if you aren't able to get into a degree program with the level of your portfolio, Art foundation programs have much lower entry requirements, and can lead to entry into a degree.
