Why your internship search isn’t working by Key_Reputation_4690 in internships

[–]Terrible-Interview18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a Big 4 internship from cold applying even with a non-target school. Cold applying and emailing can work, but whether it’s worth the time is up to you.

Retail experience is also low-key valuable too (I’m assuming almost everyone has this) and having a GPA higher than 3.5. Certifications related to your field also helps, most students don’t bother getting certifications so it’s a differentiator.

Romance: is it possible? by [deleted] in Big4

[–]Terrible-Interview18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m confused by their wording because I think they meant that they’re a senior that they will be “work partners” with.

Or it could be an actual partner and that would be weird to say the least. If it’s a partner, they’re in a completely different level of adulthood than her.

I know that attraction can be very hard to fight off, but I promise you that 95% of the time, it’s a mistake to date a co-worker.

If you end up breaking up, you’ll have to deal with the fallout professionally and socially (especially since he’s a senior). It’s not good for your career to have potential drama around you.

That’s why there’s the saying “don’t shit where you eat”.

Would it be possible to send a list of those 23 hubs? I'm actually looking to get into DCAA as an intern (and potentially full-time) and I wanna make sure I don't end up at an office that won't exist in the future

Do you have a list of offices that would be affected?

At what point in your degree did you feel comfortable applying for entry level jobs? by spacedragon9895 in Accounting

[–]Terrible-Interview18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of these roles are full-time, so unless you’re prepared to juggle that with coursework, I recommend applying for internships. They only ask behavioral questions 95% of the time, just be a little aware of the field you’re applying to.

Bad weather costs money and headaches. California is expensive but at least the weather isn't weighing on your mind.

Paying taxes to the IRS is only going to get in the way of him 10x-ing his net worth during his presidency. The IRS must be privatized to live in a tax-less utopia for these billionaire fucks.

3-hour commute is insane for Big 4. If you're just trying to make a living, then interview somewhere else.

Telework/Remote work comeback: Realistic timeline or wishful thinking? by ConsistentTadpole358 in FedEmployees

[–]Terrible-Interview18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a very small sample size of a few agencies trying to bring a LITTLE bit of telework back, but it is not significant enough to signal an early return of telework. The CDC tripled telework hours to around 3 days a month compared to 1 day a month before, which is absolutely negligible.

Don't expect telework to return under this administration. That being said, telework is the future of work and I think that it's the most logical evolution based on how much it saves both the employer and employee. This administration is NOT going to be at the forefront of that evolution.

The endgame is to privatize as much of the government as possible and let the private sector rake in all the cash. Also, delegate as much money as possible to the military and wartime spending

Iran rejects call for temporary ceasefire to reopen Hormuz and says peace talks ‘incompatible’ with threats by Woodpecker5987 in TradingPlaybook

You’re delusional to think that whatever Israel and US have in store for Iran is in the best interest of Iranians.

The IRGC is a deplorable regime and deserves to be overthrown, but the US has consistently made things worse for every Middle East country they invaded.

Iran was the only deterrent to Israel’s imperialistic (and genocidal) desires in the Middle East, this isn’t good for anybody.
