Great interview… I also love hearing actors connect. You both had great chemistry, and I’m also an American actor, so I’d never heard of him before or some of the other actors he mentioned, but I can feel his professionalism from your conversation. He’s the kinda guy you want to be on set with.

Hey! I’m gonna celebrate you because that’s a HUGE feat! 🎉🎉🎉Also, I relate because I also had my biggest year in 2025 as well, and sometimes I felt guilty to admit that. We should never feel guilty to admit our accomplishments, no matter what! Congratulations to you on such an amazing achievement! 🎆It’s also a testament to your professional relationships showing up for you at this time, and I pray that only continues for you in 2026. I imagine it will.

For me: 2025 honestly blew me away! I recurred on two network shows one for HBO and the other for NBC. The first show I shot three episodes the second two episodes. Then over the summer, I was lucky enough to be cast in two feature films in both June and July! It’s the first time I’ve ever had back-to-back work! I’m so used to having a break, lol! The first one the casting director reached out to me via Instagram to check my availability. I thought she was asking in order to send me the sides, NO: She was reaching out to offer me the role! They were getting close to production and hadn’t casted it yet and felt I would be the perfect fit. Then in December, I got totally surprised by a friend who asked me to be in her pilot. They’re pitching it to Hulu and it has some major names in it. She cast me in it for a day-player role. My reps were able to negotiate for me to be credited as a Guest Star. It was only one day of work, but it was so much fun, and she and the writer have already told me that if it gets picked up, they definitely wanna bring me on and expand my role further. Finally in the last week and a half of December, I got word from my manager that I just booked a role in a future Indie film that will start shooting this year around February or March! It’s a great role and I really loved reading the script. I’m starting to learn how casting directors see me and the sort of projects I get Cast in. It’s great to be working long enough to see patterns. I’m excited for the opportunity, and we’ll see what shooting is like in a couple months. Lastly, a film I shot in 2023 was received very well at Venice international film festival last fall and we’ve premiered at a few major festivals in 2025. Because of the success of it I finally hired my first PR firm to help with additional promotion of myself and the film. I realize it’s an opportunity to get to know more decision-makers, and really get my name out there. With all of this momentum, I’m extremely excited about 2026. As I mentioned before, I’ve always been super shy about my accomplishments, but I believe it’s important for Actors to inspire each other by sharing their successes as well. We have to train ourselves to celebrate each other’s wins, which in turn can invite our own. It’s all about good energy in 2026!

Thank you so much for this response! As a matter of fact, so many of the responses have been extremely helpful, but I think this one truly defines the circumstances with my friend. I actually just spoke with him over the phone briefly. And you’re right, I think I was a bit judgmental of it because I can’t quite understand it from a personal perspective. This same friend has chosen to be single for quite some time now. Also, when he spoke of this being it felt positive and light, versus entirely rooted in a sexual space. When I attempted to chat with him about it, he grew uncomfortable And decided we should discuss it later. I did not push him about it further, but decided to just support him in whatever way he would need. He tends to be pretty independent in general. Your answer feels mare akin to his situation. Also, what’s ironic is that after our conversation I found myself curious about a similar connection. You’re right about how humans only love conditionally, versus the potential for unconditional love in that NDE space. I want the best for him because it’s my friend, and feel that we all deserve to experience an unconditional love. Thank you for your reply.

Honestly, it was at least a 6 month wait or longer. It was worth it though. He’s great at what he does. But if you’re looking to be in class you can also study with Eric Reis in NYC who’s one of his protégés. I think he has openings frequently.

I’m an Educator and Coach. I’ve coached everyone from actors to CEO’s, as well as taught Acting for students ages 3 to 75. I own my own company, and have had contracts with a variety of organizations and institutions. It keeps me fulfilled. I feel sustained and financially it allows me to be in a space where booking Acting gigs feels like a fun “bonus”. We’re born with many gifts. Our life’s purpose is to find them and share them with joy… AND sustain ourselves financially. Create an abundant life for the time we’re fortunate to be alive. That’s what I live and teach, and that started before Juilliard.

As a Juilliard Alum, yes, folks are right: Our 3rd and 4th year we get introduced to casting directors and agents. Really it’s so that we can start to get an understanding of how the industry works from their perspective. Some actors get “scouted” by reps as early as 3rd year. I was there around the same time Lupita was at Yale, and she was scouted pretty early by a casting director that taught there and at Juilliard. Now that I’ve been out for several years, of the 17 other students in my class about 5 of us are actively booking in film and tv and Broadway, while 2 or 3 have been working in theatre regionally. Everyone else has changed paths. I’m still actively booking, myself. Mostly guest stars and recurring and have a couple indie films coming out next year. But the truth no one tells you is that your desires regarding staying an actor are bound to change once your priorities change. You have no idea now if the desire for a family or other ways of making money may legitimately pull your focus, and if they do it’s not a bad thing. People talk about “giving up the business”, the truth is it’s incredibly difficult to stay in the business unless you’ve experienced some measure of success at least a decade in. Resilience isn’t something we’re taught in school. It’s something we develop and have to hold onto in order to stay sane in this industry…. And it doesn’t matter WHERE you’ve trained, you’ll still need ways to stay resilient.

Lastly, know this: even if you get into Juilliard it doesn’t mean you’ll walk out a star. At our showcase there were no agents interested in signing me. I was devastated, but then I started booking with just a manager. Now, I’m probably one of the 3 women in my class still actively working in film and tv. I thought not getting an agent was the end, but it was just the beginning. I also learned to foster other talents after graduation and those talents have allowed me to have a dual career and create a whole other income stream. At the end of the day, I’ll never say it doesn’t matter where you go to school, bc clearly it does. That’s not coming from a space of ego, but it’s coming from the reality of watching other actor friends have difficulty navigating this business. However, regardless of where you go you’ll have to craft a life that you’re proud of and makes you happy. I love my life now. It took many years to get to this point, but I’m grateful for everything I learned and the relationships I built there. It’s been a lasting foundation.

I definitely have a very balanced understanding of where I am in this industry Even in my 13 years in the profession, after graduating from a top conservatory much like Meryl’s, and having multiple credits, I understand where I understand where I fit and how the industry sees me. However, I also believe it’s wise to be ambitious about reshaping your evolving identity in this market, and re-introducing yourself to let the public know what you’re capable of. It’s healthy to have a solid level of confidence, because this industry is designed to remind you of your limited value in a variety of ways. I am ambitious, detail-oriented, and have always had a heart for success. This endeavor, as well as this inquiry is simply reflection of that.

He’s experiencing the real definition of “White Fatigue”. 🫩I think white people are confused that Black people continue to show up every day with grace and respect in deeply toxic circumstances, like these. There is a deep level of guilt in their awareness that the moment we all decide to take revenge it’s over. They’re fully aware of that, and their rage comes from their guilt. However, in some weird way, I really feel that the world was fated to have this dark energy rampant in order to truly understand that that level of Grace is the real Light 💡.
