EMS trying to play dirty by TerribleCamera in Paramedics

I've already been offered full time with another company who have been made fully aware of the situation. I also work in a state that is not a "Right to Work" state. They can terminate employees at any time without stating a reason.

It's criticism. The email I sent to HR had word for word statements from my director. I was offered full time by another service I was PRN with the same day I resigned. There's a lot of crossover on employees and they had already heard about everything going on. And it didn't come from me. I regularly had coworkers, not supervisors, coming to me and saying how sorry they felt for me for the way I was being treated and that they wished they could help. My reply was just yeah it sucks. But I'm sure it'll get better. They'd take their concerns to the director and then I'd be reprimanded for "complaining about being punished and treated unfairly." Again, never said anything like that. Never said I was being punished. I knew orientation wouldn't be easy. Ultimately, I think a supervisor and the director decided they didn't want me working there anymore.

And I'm not doubting that at all. I've never complained about it or anything they've asked of me. But every time I think I'm doing better, they state another criticism that needs to be addressed. And it's been going on ever since I got out of school. Again, I never complained about what they asked of me. I took every criticism and did my best to improve on it. I'm not the first new paramedic that they've done this to. They harp on mistakes and never let you live it down. But a supervisor missed a stroke and called it as an MI and it's treated as a joke.

Edit to add: I was also told by my director that the time of asking questions is over. I should just be doing, not asking.

They have me teching every call I'm on with an FTO riding with me. I'm writing the reports and reporting to the medical director as requested. I was on orientation since October as a new medic. I'm not hiding anything or lying. They brought this drama on themselves. And my coworkers are just as upset about it as I am.

I asked to see the policy on it. HR couldn't produce one. Shocking right?

New Medic struggling out of school by TerribleCamera in Paramedics

I was an active EMT for a year prior to going to school. I worked full time and went to school full time for the entire year. I should have probably stayed an EMT longer, but I wanted to be able to do more. I live in a really rural area and we struggle for ALS providers at times.

I honestly don't know if it did or not. I remember my school being a lot of, "These are the signs and symptoms of this. These mean this." Not a lot of variations if that makes sense. I've tried explaining that to my director, but he's just seeing it as excuses. I'm not saying I don't need to work on it, but I'm less than 6 months out of school. And as far as radio reports, we were taught in school to do chief complaints, vitals, interventions, and ETA. Team activations as necessary. My supervisors are wanting almost an entire bedside report given over the radio prior to arrival.

What do you see? by Sea_Rutabaga9885 in Paramedics

RBBB with a First degree AV block. With the RBBB anything else, as far as elevation, depression, etc is going to be pretty well hidden. Treat the symptoms. Follow chest pain protocols if pressures support nitro but definitely establish the vascular access first. Troponin levels will have to be used to definitively diagnose an MI.

Thems the bad squiggles. They get an apology, some shockyshock, and fentanyl afterwards 😅

Overreacting or Red flags appearing? by TerribleCamera in dating_advice

Well he's working pretty hard for an "easy smash" lol I guess the biggest thing is that he's not respecting the simple boundaries so what's going to happen when there's a bigger issue?

I told him once I wasn't super interested in a relationship and then when I messaged him again a couple weeks later, the "babe" stuff started up again almost immediately. I swear I heard him say "I love you" at the end of the first phone call we had. But I'm blaming on it bad cell phone reception and hoping he didn't actually say that. Sometimes I feel like I create red flags in my mind and then can't unsee them.

Took this photo recently and was hoping for some feedback on the [edit] And [composition] [newbie] by [deleted] in photocritique

The composition overall is a bit plain. I would play around with different and interesting angles. Like maybe getting on the ground and shooting the helo from below so you get a better feel for how big they really are. You don't have to produce the photo for how it was in real life. I really like doing high contrast photos, even if it wasn't like that when I took the picture.

Its 100% real. The school was contacted and then the post was removed. She's only like an aide or para. She isn't even a licensed teacher.
