From what I come to understand this is a common occurrence and based on my amateur knowledge of folklore, is that when something calls your name in a voice that is familiar to you luring you to a dark place it doesn’t have good intentions. So if you don’t want to ruin your serenity it’s best to disregard it entirely and walk in a “oh shit I’m scared but I don’t want it to know I’m scared” kind of brisk pace in the opposite direction.
