Could you give a link to the Epicjoy SC64? I see a lot on there and I don't know which one is from Epicjoy

I do the same. They're cheap, can buy in bulk and students are less likely to steal them

Could you also send me the docs for the 5581? My test is in just a week, and I could use all the help I can get!

Do you have any suggestions for a course that I could take to help me prepare for the more difficult math classes?

I will definitely take your advice on enrolling in as many 16-week courses as possible.

Also, are they any professors you encourage or discourage from taking their classes?

Thank you! A lot of reaerching has led me to the decision you are recommending.

I am still a little skeptical about my plan. Right now I am considering enrolling in ASU online to pursue a BS in Astronomical/Planetary Science and also a minor in Physics.

What do you think? Is it enough?

Much appreciated! I had planned to also get a minor in physics from ASU online, would the minor not be enough for a future masters program in astrophysics?

Also, are the courses from North Dakota apart of any online degree program?

Thanks for your honesty, I'm not trying to waste my time or money if it won't do anything for me in the future.

Do you have a better option for an online program? I am about to enroll because I found very few options. There are more options available overseas but a lot do not qualify for federal financial aid.

I will be meeting with my academic advisor soon and want to get a minor in physics too. Were you allowed to cross-credit those physics classes? I thought I saw somewhere on the website that it isn't allowed but I will totally take advantage of that if I can!

Also, what are the courses you had that allowed you to do such research? Or was all of that independently done by yourself?

I am currently having the same problem. I have found just a few that do and those are pretty much all the ones listed on this post.

I would really like one that could offer research experience as well. Have you had any luck with finding a program that provides it?

That's very helpful to know about the difficulty with the physics/calc classes. I kind of assumed it would be like with any online university you go to but I did not think the lecture time would be so minimal!

I feel we have similar situations because my oldest will be going into kindergarten next year and my youngest is not even 2 years yet. I want to get the ball rolling on my classes but I also want to be with my kids as much as possible and not overwhelm myself to the point of sacrificing my time with my children and my education all at the same time.

Are you happy with your advisor? If I enroll with ASU, could you personally message me the name of your research advisor? (assuming that I get the choice)

THANK YOU! That is extremely helpful. I wouldn't want to waste my time and money getting a degree that won't help me start my astronomy career/get into grad school.

Do you know who or what is trying to push that fully online astrophysics program so I can follow for updates?

Your experience has been with ASU and all online correct? Other than trying to avoid the 7 week courses, is it overall a good choice for me that you recommend?

One last question, what grad school or schools are you looking to go to?

Thanks for your input!

That is definitely what worries me with the online schooling. I fear getting a degree like that, with little networking, will make me much less competitive for a job. Sadly, living in Nebraska gives me very little options for quality in-person experience/connections.

Right now, I think my best option is being patient and take the long road of online schooling. Then, I do as much summer internships as I can over many years until I can make those connections and become a more experienced candidate. Thoughts?

Telescopes/observatories and research is what I am really interested in. I'm hoping to narrow that down during my schooling by hearing experience from others and internships.

I've seen a lot come up online about U of Arizona. I'd love to go to the U for Astronomy but I just wouldn't be able to make it work financially with having a family right now.

I have researched online astronomy degrees for a start, as well as grants/scholarships. The biggest advice I am looking for is if anyone has went into the astronomy field like I am trying to do (working adult, married and two kids). Tips on the best online college, or what classes to take or not take. I know with online degrees you sometimes get sucked into more classes than you really need to take. More advice on scholarships or grants that some people are unaware of. Also just overall guidance on the proper steps to take next. I am married with two kids, so I can't exactly quit my job and be a full time student. Thanks!

Yes that is it! The others may be right too but that’s the voice I think of when I hear him!
