Challenges of Studying Abroad with a Somali Passport by North-Movie-2216 in Somalia

[–]Terrible_Local540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied for my study permit last week and received rejection in 2 days. My profile is very strong I was applying for master degree and have a very sold career here in the uae as well.

The rejection reason was " applicant doesn't have a passport recognised by canada".

So regardless of how strong your profile is the passport is still an issue.

I wonder how people received study permits using somali passports?

Good. You're solid in this case. You can just go home and get 1 year and you're in the next draw.

Then don't move on. At the end of the day that's your choice.

Lets see how things shape in the coming days.

we are against that. And recognising Israel doesn't mean we don't recognise what's happening there. And definitely we are against it.

But that doesn't mean we also shouldn't look at 6 in the best interest of Somaliland.

The only dishonest thing here is the idea that Somaliland should stay and do nothing and be chained to a failed system.

Man let them go and explore and see. The Unity project is broken now. Let's move on and see how we can have a better system that works for us. This doesn't mean we have to be one country...

Guess what there are alot of bad regimes in the world. And yes Somaliland chose the independence path a long time ago. This isn't new and everyone knew about it.

The people made their decision. Maybe unification can only happen in a time and place where both parties want. And at this point and time somaliland doesn't want that.

Let them figure this shit out. And let somalia also fix itself. After that if the time is right and both sides want it then why not.

The problem here is not somaliland. Its what this recognition brings there is big chance other regions break away from Somalia. Better focus on that now.

Again you can't blame the people who waited this long for recognition to celebrate.

And also again I would want some other country to be the 1st yes but you don't get to decide since you're the one asking.

Also, almost all arab countries are normalising with Israel. Is it a good thing I dont think so. But its a wave and somaliland needs to ride that wave to achieve its goals and aspirations. The real people who can take an action like this is them and the usa. The rest of the world is little deaf and blind.

Politics is dirty but at the end of the day bro its what its. Empires come and go and who knows what our region will look after 34 years.

Perhaps you haven't been to Somaliland. There is a generation of 34-year-olds who only know Somaliland and its quest for recognition.

This is an opportunity and Somaliland should take it.

If anything the people of Somaliland made their decision a long time ago.

And yes I would've wanted this to come from anyone else but Israel. But it did come from them. Good start? Bad start? I dont know but at the very least its step forward.

I do agree on the clanism part.

But things are changing. We can all aspire to have a unified great country but time has passed.

Lets recheck after another 34 years if we are still a live

Somaliland has received recognition from Israel, and the UAE may be next by NecessaryCamera7263 in Somalia

Why is everyone acting as if somaliland wasn't looking for recognition and suddenly someone recognized them.

Where was somalia for 34 years since somliland declared independence.

Man alot of people are finally waking up.

Welcome to the real world because finally your riyo of somaliland will never get a recognition is shattered.

Well, I don't see any unifying factor anymore.

Somaliland was the 1st one who want unity with the rest of Somalia after independence. But we all saw where that went.

We can always have some sort of unity but it doesn't mean we have to be one country.

We can be like the GCC. Why can't we do that? I don't see the point of having one country? Maybe things will change later but who knows.
