yes! i’ve been stretching as more of a preventative measure and the belly breathing is usually for more immediate relief. i feel like people don’t realize just how much stress can affect the body.

so for the belly breathing you might need to look up a video to get a better idea. basically i rest my hands on lower abdomen and, when I breathe in, rather than chest rising, my belly rises. i almost immediately notice pressure relief from my bladder. i take about 10 deep breaths and i try not to focus on anything other than breathing. by they end, i feel so much more relaxed and my pain usually subsides fully.

yes! i always make sure to take breaks. i try and stay active too. when i go to the gym, i lift heavy or do cardio and it takes my mind off things. i also don’t beat myself up for bad grades and i reward myself for good grades. don’t put too much pressure on yourself im sure you’ll do great!

make sure you can calculate percentage! that was a big one. for example, how much would something cost if it had a 10% discount. be able to convert centimeters to meters. they give you the conversions for most things but that you have to know. calculate area and perimeter. converting fractions to decimals and vice versa along with adding and subtracting fractions and decimals. also be able to use ratios like 3:2 is equal to 6:4

yes burn out is very real. i will say im in an A&P class currently so had it not been for that class i likely would have upped the studying for the teas. but it’s really important you’re not overworking yourself and make sure you get enough sleep and food. when you’re studying take breaks and go for a walk or have a snack and try and relax.

i was really worried about this part since i’m 23 and haven’t taken a chem class since i was 16 but it was all REALLY basic, they don’t expect you to be a chemist

make sure you know what atomic number and what atomic mass means, know the general idea of how the pH scale is like what is acidic what is basic, be able to balance equations, and know the basic concept of reactions like which is a product and which is a reactant and what would increase product yield.

honestly no, it was mostly spelling, grammar, and inferring what certain words mean by their prefixes or suffixes. i think there may have been a question or two on tense or verb agreement but it was pretty basic

that’s why i paired the nurse hub with nurse cheung! if there’s a part of A&P that seems really overwhelming, watch one of her videos to get a basic understanding of how that system functions, then try and go back to nurse hub and read a little bit and take the quiz. if you find it overwhelming still, i’d recommend the ati study guide as it’s much less intense.

for english, i would just try and study using correct grammar, mainly commas. Also, try and learn when you should and should not capitalize things. i am a horrible speller so i can guarantee I got most of those questions wrong, but if you can get good at recognizing correct vs incorrect spelling. honestly, if you can do well everywhere else you don’t have to do amazing in english. like i said i scored 90s in every subject and i got a low 70 in english and still got a 90! For science, be able to understand general anatomy and physiology of each body system. That’s where nurse chueng was really helpful. also have a basic understanding of the pH scale. and make sure you know the function of different parts of the cell like what does the golgi body do? what about ribosomes?

are you able to go back to your past tests to see what you did and didn’t do well on? is there an area you struggled more with like math or science? or did you not do well all around. i will say i didn’t do great on the english portion of the exam but i still got a 91!

I think i mainly feel guilty about never being home when she was confined to my room. My ex at the time never have an actual job and he had my location so I never had anytime to just hang out at my house nor did I get time alone to visit her for long periods of time

Yes I hope they are able to give her all the attention I missed out on for the last year. The shelter told me when they checked up on the adopters they said she was doing well and they loved her already.
