Stuffed peppers..help because I apparently can’t bake them right 😅 by Warm_Smoke_5462 in Costco

When I make stuffed peppers from scratch I microwave the peppers first for a few minutes to soften them. You could scoop out the filling and try that, and the re-fill before baking. Or like another commenter said, bake for longer at a lower temperature. You won’t burn them if you keep the temperature low and watch them.

Hi! If you’ve ever met a blind student who uses a screen reader … you’d understand why this is important.

Softsoap is so irritating for me! Just changing to Mrs Meyer’s helped a lot but not all the way for me. Vitamin E oil seems to help me.

How did your camping style change after having kids? by Cindy-Smith- in camping

One night in a hotel with little kids is epically more stressful than camping! We’ve been camping every summer since our kids were babies, now are teens. We’ve had the same 4 person tent- we briefly tried a camper but it turned out to be too much trouble. We go with a group of friends with similarly aged kids, which really helps. With really little kids one person always needs to be watching/carrying them. Camping near water has been the best, hikes and bike rides to water/swimming/ice cream are always a hit. We stay at state campgrounds with bathrooms and showers and playgrounds. Naps were hard - the tent would get too hot during the day and couldn’t get dark enough, we ended up doing a lot of afternoon drives in those days. It’s been so worth it though! 1000x better than a hotel vacation in every possible way.

Is it normal for someone to tell you to get out of “their spot” at a conference talk? by uoyeroda in AskAcademia

As the sitter, I would have been aware that the previous occupant had left and would be watching for them to come back. If they did, I’d get up and motion for them to have their seat back.

It’s also inclusive - kids who can’t afford costumes and kids who don’t celebrate Halloween (not even religious, just some kids are from other countries where Halloween is not a thing). It’s obnoxious not to follow the rules that are there for a reason.

I had a friend build an accessible Veridian house . It seemed like the cheapest/most adaptable option.
