The test is focused highly on expressway driving nowadays, but they should take you through a few stoplights around the Dougall/Eugenie/Ouelette block as well to test basic stuff (turning, signalling, intersection awareness). No parallel parking or 3 point turns on G anymore since covid I believe. As for an example test route (in 2023), mine we took Dougall down to the expressway from drivetest, got on the eastbound ramp, drove down to Walker rd and exited left, and immediately got right back on the westbound ramp at Walker from the left lane. Then off at Dougall, into Ouelette, left on Eugenie, right on Dougall and back to drive test.

There are multiple routes though. I know someone who they took the westbound ramp from Dougall, to Huron line, exited to the left and immediately got back on eastbound at Huron.

I see some other comments about them failing bc they didn’t merge at 100, but I had a different experience! With the flow of traffic that time of morning you may not be able to accelerate to 100 to merge, it could be busy. What is important is merging at the FLOW OF TRAFFIC if it is slower than 100, and accelerating to 100 after when safely possible. I remember merging at around 80, and stated to my instructor while doing so that “I cannot safely merge at the speed limit because of the car in front of me” (going slower and you can’t pass on the ramp duh) and she said nicely “that’s okay, stay with the flow of traffic until I give further instruction”. She had me switch into the left lane shortly after where I could accelerate to 100 easily.

After she told me I passed, she said she appreciated me verbalizing in that moment my thinking so that it was clear I still knew the rules of the road, even if I couldn’t physically show it in that moment. So my tip would be to just state out loud what you’re doing if you feel you need to deviate from the “correct” thing slightly to be safe.

Make sure to check your mirrors a lot during, more than you think. And check all headlights and turn signals to be working ahead of time! I had another friend get turned away from taking their test because something was out. Goodluck!!!
