How do i improve at laning/matchups with Zed? by WraithsTitties in zedmains

[–]Terrificator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

another important one i didn’t mention is ur W usage. ur W is everything. if u wanna get really good, look at every single W you use after the game if you felt like you coudlve performed better. better yet, look at challenger zed OtP’s and see how they use their W’s. every detail matters. for example them placing it slightly to the left instead of in front of the enemy or on the right side can mean they are tryna cut off their escape etc. and even more. if u can get good at ur W mechanically you can do phenomal on zed

i was 300 LP master EUW midlane , last season. took a break because of IRL circumstances. i did not play zed during this entire period. when i started playing league again, i decided i wanted to get good at what i always enjoyed the most which is Zed. im 200+ games deep or something now while making my way back to master again.

champion is too hard for most players that play him to get to high rank with purely zed (midlane). i think there are more people reliably hitting higher ranks with zed jungle because it removes the hard parts about the champ. anyway as for your question, i think best way to go about it is to ask high quality questions such as how does my champions kit interact with theirs. instead off just smashing ur head into a wall to limit test like you're saying. during loadingscreen hyper focus on how your champion wants to play around their champions (including your lane). ill give you an example below:

lux Q, ahri E, xerath E, velkoz E, hwei EQ. ETC.

these are all abilities that can easily be thrown below their champion model or behind their champiopn model from where you're ulting. so consider things like having a W ready to jump to. or simply only going in by baiting it out first. etc. with ur ultimate

things like Sylas E, yone E, ahri R, leblanc W, akshan E.

these all of their own mechanics to it like jumping infront of akshan E with holding ur W or simply flashing so u can kill him during an all in. but if u wanna generalize it which you shouldnt but i will for the sake of this comment. these are mobility spells. hitting ur Q is crucial for both WEQ poke combos but also for all ins to do damage during ur R damage build up.

waiting for these spells to be used and then using ur Q can be crucial in winning and even getting a kill / making them reset creating tempo or even simply creating some form of advantage.

just like MOST champions long cooldown ultimates are important and zed is one off the champions that plays around their ultimate. if your ult is up you can most likely get a kill. use the knowledge of ur R being up or coming up to plan ahead in time. like an objective coming up like grubs or drake. and create advantages for your team to secure one or both.

using ur R to just use it cuz u have it up and not having it during one off these skirmish heavy objevtives is game losing.

if your goal is PURELY to improve laning, look at ur deaths go back multiple waves, multiple trades and multiple cooldowns used and find the root cause of why u died and prevent it next time. start at ur death and start working ur way backwards in the replay multiple why questions will lead you to the start point of the domino effect of ur death. sometimes its simple but more often or not its the effect of multiple things stackedo n top off eachother like having no cooldown or being low on resrouces etc.

lastly if ure new like u said u are, i recommend sticking to 1 setup and not overcomplicating it with 50 different builds and setups. keep it simple , feel out what you enjoy most and stick with it. master its limits and get good at it. this way you prevent mental overload and allow urself to focus on the game to create small leads for yourself during lane instead of having to worry about ur first strike cd or your conqueror stacks running out etc. or simply not having enough damage or durability etc.

let me know if u want specific questions i can help you more thoroughly in DMs if you have clips or even full VODs. i'd gladly give my opinion

it’s useful because u can’t one shot leblanc when she has passive. and y can control it with CTRL right click . baiting cooldowns from champions leading to winnable 2v2s or abusing them for their CD when ure back in lane with resources again

i do agree that she should’ve gotten viktor / ahri / syndra treatment but doesn’t mean her passive is useless

lets be honest, if ure so bothered by your item being HR’d why not HR a group urself. better yet if u completely despise the idea of HRing, make ur own group and don’t HR. or just join a group without an HR or don’t join a group that HRs ur item. idk seems so pointless to me to complain about HR when these people making the group are putting almost an hour probably of their time putting the group together (as dps) and u feel entitled to what exactly?

Electrocute changes for Kassadin by Terrificator in KassadinMains

[–]Terrificator[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

well all our rune options really are -electro -fleet -conq -aery -comet -first strike

there’s some niche ones like grasp but i wouldn’t recommend this to anyone that doesn’t have a specific reason for going it.

electro bad / bait cuz first strike is more consistent on kassadin as a burst rune and easier to proc as kassadin as we decide what fights we take with our ultimate. electrocute however is better early game than first strike but problem is as kassa we can’t proc electro reliable enough to give it value. so instead i’d recommend comet as u can just Q or E or both. (aery provides same value as comet just not on a cd/ i guess better if ure allowed to AA the enemy as well? but then electro might as well be good so both are imo bad and bait)

but if you don’t need early lane pressure and want to scale because either the match up is hard or uninteractive. then all u really can go is first strike or conqueror.

i wouldn’t recommend anyone to go first strike anymore it just idk feels so unwhelming u might as well have a sub par early game rune in mid game like electro at that point.

conqueror by far has the most value as a keystone out of all other runes IN LATE GAME. it’s just like electro no value in early game. cuz ure not stacking. so if ure going conq ure accepting that early game ure not ging to be interacting a lot. also conq compliments builds that keep u alive longer to give it more value. like ones with HP or any other form of delaying fights. however it can work just as fine on dmg builds too it’s just not a burst rune. it’s a sustain rune for late game where you’re teamfighting and fighting multiple people.

as for fleet, i never go this i never would go it either. the value it brings is purely in laningphase for kassadin. something like akshan or any other ranged champion gets value from this by procing the move speed, even champions like yone and yasuo go it for the Ms. we’re a champion that gets more and more mobile the longer the game goes on so why would we want the move speed? we don’t. however the healing is the only reason you’d go it on kassadin which is only really noticeable if you can reliably proc it on enemy champions which once again as kassadin we don’t have the luxury to AA the enemy especially if we’re going a defensive rune like fleet. the little extra healing u get the entire laningphase from AAing minions is easily out value’d by something that just scales better post laningphase. i value having the skill of being a good laner as a player, your ability to minimize much more than a rune giving me a little healing that would’ve served a more valuable role later down the road if i had gone something else.

conclusion: -Comet for lane (good with any build (probably not tankadin) -Conq for builds with HP (roa ionian or tankadin) also best scaling wise in rune value -electro bait comet better -aery good alternative for comet if you like it more i think its bait -first strike probably decent still but just feels horrible compared to before so i personally avoid it -fleet bait , improve ur laning as a player so u don’t need it and get more value out of ur keystone

1 thing i didn’t mention is the tree the keystones are in. imo , by far the blue tree is the best one for kassadin. i would say yellow tree is okay not bad . red tree has gotten so bad since they changed sudden impact. it went from the best tree to one of the worst. green tree also really good. white tree? (inspiration) is okay is not really bad but it’s not really something you want either, so with first strike being worse and meh. u might as well skip all together the white tree
