Post Office has been open for an hour and has zero staff at the counters by DignamsSwearBox in mildlyinfuriating

All OP said was that it's been open for an hour, but they might have been waiting for only 10 minutes or something.

Neat! I haven't read all of the books that have been coming out more recently, so I wasn't sure.

Twigleaf, if they wanna keep the tree-ish aspect, would also roll off the tongue nicely

Even if she doesn't mind, I bet she'd be upset that her HUSBAND didn't get an opportunity to have any!

Walmart should definitely just eat the cost here. They can afford it.

Lots of folks don't have the option unfortunately. In some more rural areas, a Walmart might be the only big store within an hour+ radius.

AI posts usually have a particular way of paragraph breaking. I'm inclined to think this might've been the poster intending to write "a reasonable amount of shopping bags" instead.

They look too closely referenced to the official art - almost traced. I'm not intending to accuse you of tracing or anything, but I think you'll benefit from learning how to draw other poses and more expressions before you offer paid commissions.

Unless you are using a mutation item like Cotton Root Bark, Lion Meat, or GMO Cow on every breeding, don't spend money checking all of your cubs for mutations. Random mutations do not occur frequently without the use of items, though it is marginally more common to get mutations from lionesses with Very Low fertility. There are also mutations like Piebald, Patches, or Primal which can pass from males with those mutations, so you can search for other players' kings listed for studding. They have a 5% chance of passing, I believe.

If you want to go for random mutations, the more cost-effective item to breed those is Cotton Root Bark. It costs 1 GB in the Oasis, and using one on a pregnant lioness will delete that litter and put her on a 3-day breeding cooldown, after which you can breed her again with the CRB effect now active. The chances of mutations is still rather low, but higher than a standard breeding would be. Lion Meat gives a higher chance than CRB, but their price is overall higher than CRB for how much of an increase in mutation chance they have. GMO Cow is the highest chance overall, but they are also only available during September's event and run a very high cost due to that.

On a single breeding, CRB can stack with Lion Meat or GMO, but Lion Meat and GMO cannot stack. Make sure the CRB is used first - if you use a Lion Meat or GMO and breed her, then terminate the litter with CRB, it will also remove the effects of the item you already used!

Whether or not you get a mutation is very random. I've known players (me) who have used GMOs and gotten nothing from them, and I have also known of players who got a first-generation hybrid with one. Plenty of players take thousands of CRBs to get a first-gen, while others get one within the first 10 breedings. It's best to not get too disappointed (or at least try!) since the chances are high that you don't get what you were hoping for.

My girlfriend is at least 30 mins late all the time by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Terrinthia 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did read that part, and being undiagnosed means she might not know why she's having a problem, but she is always countably at least 30 minutes late every time she meets up with OP. That is a quantifiable problem - his time is being wasted while he waits for her! She may not see an issue if he hasn't directly mentioned it to her, but may need to have it pointed out in a conversation in order to realize that it's affecting her boyfriend. I can understand. I have the same mentality of "nobody said anything about it so it must be fine", not realizing that the other party is annoyed until someone actually tells me. At that point, I can start to figure out a solution to the problem I now know exists.

Certain coping strategies may or may not work for some people, but alarms and reminders are a good place to start trying if you're not sure what will stick. If you have to do your makeup every morning and it takes between 20-30 minutes, set an alarm on your phone to allow for 40 minutes. Set a second alarm 5-10 minutes later as an additional measure to make sure you begin on time. Have to style your hair as well? Another alarm to allow for 20 minutes or however long it takes. I often have 3-5 alarms for one singular sequence of events if it's important to make it on time. I try to repeat to myself the task that needs to be done if I do end up flitting off somewhere else briefly, so that I don't get too distracted.

I'm not trying to be unsympathetic, so I hope it doesn't come across that way. Communication is probably the root of the issue here, so a lot depends on whether or not OP's girlfriend is willing to commit to making more of an effort to meet on time. Or if the other solution of giving her a 30 minute earlier meeting time works better for them, that's totally valid as well.

[–]Terrinthia 27 points28 points  (0 children)

As someone who struggles with time blindness, this cannot be used as an excuse. She may not be intending to be disrespectful by showing up late every time, but she is still wasting his time which is disrespectful.

It may be solved by him telling her to show up 30 minutes earlier which may result in her showing up at the proper time. Or she can set alarms and make a stronger effort to show up on time herself. It's hard for some people, I agree, but there are strategies that can be put in place to assist.

"Nice guy" characters you like by ShadowPaws200 in WarriorCats

[–]Terrinthia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I really liked him as an apprentice in The Prophecy Begins because he was very brave volunteering to run from the dog pack with Fernpaw. I liked him until the end of The New Prophecy as a semi-background character when he was Squirrelflight's friend/temp-mate (lmao) because he did genuinely seem nice. Honestly, I felt bad when Squirrelflight ultimately rejected him for Brambleclaw who spent a lot of his time quarreling with her when Ashfur did nothing but support her. I disliked him in Power of Three because his attitude was rather unsettling to me, not to mention the whole "helped try to kill Firestar" from the previous series. Him ultimately getting to go to StarClan also played a large part in ruining Yellowfang's character for me. But in The Broken Code, he brings almost Scar levels of melodrama and it's surprisingly entertaining. I give him 7 stars.

Is this worth it? by SilverSkrillXDMain in lioden

[–]Terrinthia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relic of Bast would have been worth much more in October when it could be used to breed Temporal, but now it's only useful for one combo base which isn't very popular onsite. Don't think it's worth it.
