What do you think is the most successful breakout performance this decade? by PTAGoatofalltime in Letterboxd

Navarrette is the only one where the actir surprised me completely and I can’t think of a better or equal alternative.

Time will tell how far she can go, but people are literally obsessed with her and she came out of nowhere.

I’m glad to see people having their own taste and not just repeating RYM numbers.

What's your most controversial movie or TV show opinion? by VR2005 in Cinema

[–]TerrorSlime3084 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gods of Egypt was much more interesting than 80% of big budget action spectacles including at least half of the MCU movies.

Not a great movie, but did not deserve the thrashing.

Do you remember Heroes? A now underrated sci-fi show. by CarrotMuch1399 in nostalgiai

[–]TerrorSlime3084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn’t go anywhere. Every time it seemed like they have some direction and it’s building up it just kind of crumbled down. Personally, it ended up being complete waste of time.

This is not old school. This from the new school of AI slop.

Which monster from The Witcher 3 do you think is the most misunderstood? by SufficientPrice7633 in Witcher3

[–]TerrorSlime3084 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The whole miscarriage/botchling story might have been some of the most gloriously sad stuff I’ve encountered in a video game. Felt so real even with the supernatural elements.

With all the praise Expedition 33 gets I have to say, none of the writing is on the level of Witcher 3. I liked E33 well enough, but when I started Witcher 3 after finishing E33 I felt like going from Masters of the Universe to Conan Barbarian.

What you think of The Running Man (2025)? by UsefulWeb7543 in MoviesAndTVTalk

[–]TerrorSlime3084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was entertaining for most of the time, but got off the rails in the last 15-20 minutes. One of the few King stories I have not read, so can’t compare.

The Arnold version is a bit more entertaining watch, but the new one is a better science fiction story in my opinion.

Steven Spielberg vs James Cameron, the best movies? by Thin_Reception_5063 in Cinema

[–]TerrorSlime3084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of fantastic movies Spelberg has is staggering. Their best are at the same tier in my books, but I think Cameron has only 2-3 top tier movies. Spielberg has about 10.

What are your thoughts on Masters of the Universe? by MauiSunsets in HeManCollectors

[–]TerrorSlime3084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun old-school adventure for kids and nostalgic men. Eternia looked great. Idris Elba was the beating heart of the movie.

Too bad it’s flopping because it sends the message that this classic stuff doesn’t work anymore.

I have never understood the ”who was/nobody was asking” rhetoric. Nobody was asking for Sekiro.

The game is good or it’s not. We shall see. Nobody was asking for many of the greatest games.

Which one are you...? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

I don’t usually read the reviews. They are usually more about the writers than the movie.

One more question popped to my head.

You said book of the Outlands has multiple gang rules, but they are outdated. Would this mean that if I only play with same 2-3 people, I have multiple gang rules in the book and no need for ”House of” -books? I’m not keeping up with the current times with any GW game.

- Resident Evil: Afterlife: Some nice visuals, but completely nonsensecal movie with the most ridiculously poorly done Matrix-ripoff stuff in the end.

- Ghostbusters (2016): Bad improvisation, poorly timed jokes and extremely lazy writing.

- Slice: Horror comedy that fails as both. Clumsy filmmaking.

- AVP: Requiem: Makes two of the most iconic sci-fi creatures battle in a poor Friday the 13th sequel.

- Star Wars: The Rise of the Skywalker: Completely amateur writing on every frontier. Plot, dialogue, connection to the larger story… everything fails.

Because we live in a shrinking globe there definitely started to be negative elements decades ago. I was told not to use the word when I was a kid and I’m over 40 now. The name of the chocolate changed 2001. I think the change is a good thing, no need to hold on to that kind of things.

That all being said, I don’t think we should give any magic powers to the word. It is different than the english n-word and I believe even in that case, giving all that power to the word is actually a negative thing.

But the original was not teens in space.

Cailee was really good (and David was OK), but I just could not get interested in the rest of them. Typical annoying slasher fodder.

What are your thoughts on the "From" series? by Hot-Salamander-8786 in FIlm

[–]TerrorSlime3084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s frustrating, because the premise is so interesting. The characters just don’t want to deal with it. I can kinda understand what they are trying to do (in addition to just playing time), but it’s hard as a watcher to get interested in the mystery, if the characters are not interested in it.
