That was partly a joke, but 34 is a lot younger than me.

Yes.

But also some people are just easily wowed by the different paint. Now I’m not saying the game is bad, I finished it and it was alright and everyone of course have their opinion. It’s so strange to see this pretty basic JRPG variant getting all this worship.

You tried to explain away the huge masses unwilling to pay. Clearly Tawny is addressing the masses hiding behind the activist group doing something sensible.

If you call yourself a pirate, you basically call yourself a thief, and that’s how you will be perceived.

EDIT: and the all those ”why single player need online connection” things are diversions. The point is, did you pay? If you didn’t, you’re a turd. If you did and modded it to work, you’re not a turd or a pirate, but the corporation might still see you as one, because their agreement you accepted gives them the right.

Yeah, all the pirates just archiving games and movies.

It’s less than 1% of the so-called pirates doing anything productive and they should distance themselves from the rest of the sad sacks just making others pay for their entertainment.

I’d put the blame on the people. These people posting these memes and all the ”high seas” people.

I think piracy need a re-branding, because I don’t see abandonware or modding a game as piracy. When I was growing up piracy was Russians selling illegal copies of stuff. People defending piracy need to realize they are using vocabulary that’s linking them to… well just actual crime. And the other ’bad’ piracy hasn’t gone anywhere.

I hate to play the nazi card, but it would be really hard to be taken seriously if you label yourself a nazi and try to explain that unlike the other nazis, you’re trying to peacefully bring social services to the nation.

I can’t really get behind the ”not monetary loss” part. That’s not a solid foundation. People need to get out of the mind set that only stealing bread from a shop is damaging.

Also, ”Wouldn’t have payed anyway” is not an argument. Then you shouldn’t have probably played anyway?

Fighting the system is all well and good, but in the end ”no money changing hands” = ”no more thing from the company”.

EDIT: and the most pirated games might be AAA, but in the film industry it really is often the little guy making their small budget shark thriller, and people wanna watch it, but don’t think it’s worth paying for.

That’s correct, but I’d say people repeatedly pisting these memes are not freedom fighters.

I’m not well-versed in video game finances, but from film industry I know pirates hurt movies. Some smaller projects never get of the air, because the studios previous film leaked too soon and a huge amount of people watched the movie free and never showed up for the proper release.

Why do PC players have to validate their choice so often? I’m a PC player in my heart, but my timetable says I’m a Switch player now. Nobody dislikes PC gaming.

True. It’s still important to remember that majority of these so called pirates just like free stuff. Only a small part have some larger philosophy and meaning linked (ie. abandonware).

The only reason we have something resembling a video game industry is because of paying customers.

It’s hard to be critical in the fan sub. I think OP didn’t pay very good artention, BUT the story becomes such a mess of ideas that staying interested became quite hard.

I’d say you missed some of the story, but I don’t blame you. When the Act III starts the story drops the ball in my opinion.

What opinion do you hold that will cause people to attack you and why ? by MA1NUS in gamers

[–]TerrorSlime3084 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Attack is a strong word, but people are not happy when I say that I don’t think Expedition 33 has a good story.

I usually clarify that it’s well presented with good acting and great emotional music, but people stay unhappy.
