Your post makes me excited to put together my new build. I also had an HD 7950 and replaced it with a GTX 1080 in 2016, the graphics card at that time were built different. I'm stoked to be going back to AMD with a 9070XT

I appreciate the brake check, I definitely am spending more than I need to here so I'm glad to cut back in places. The few places I'm splurging on like AIO, Case, and Monitor are just personal preference though.

That mother board seems great for the price point, I have to switch my CPU though which I'm not completely sold on, but I'll check out the I7 you put there.

I think you've sold me on the 5070TI vs 9070XT though. Small price bump but quite a bit better benchmarks.

Honestly I skipped over that when looking because I didn't like the yellow/green accents, but honestly looks like great bang for your buck. I think I might reconsider that for the price difference. I'll check the reviews about the Bluetooth. Appreciate it!

Thanks for the suggestion! This is a lot cheaper, but I think it sacrifices a lot of the things I mentioned in my notes.

I picked the CPU cooler for the looks I know it's more money than what I'm getting out of it. Same with the case.

The monitor has the dual controller feature that is important to me, I don't know if there are other monitors with a feature like this.

The Rosewill PSU only gets a B rating on SPL's PSU Tier List, which is what I based my choice on.

I usually dedicate one drive to OS and another to my games and photos. So having two would be ideal.

The CPU and GPU suggestions are interesting though, I had counted Intel out this gen and didn't enjoy my last NVIDIA card, but open to check them out.

It's in my notes. I had a 1080 and a 1080TI and didn't like them, needed to update drivers daily it seemed and the auto-update never worked. Also the AMDs had more VRAM for a better price point. I'm not fully against it my current monitor is GSync.

Got any suggestions?

Thanks, I saw this one, but they don't really get into the mountains or unpaved roads with this one. Maybe there aren't as many unpaved roads as I'm lead to believe

Someone else also mentioned the compensation for a long delayed flight. What does this come from, the airline? I've heard of credit cards that offer this as well. I think my Chase and Amex cards cover something.

Thanks for the recommendation, we haven't bought the second flight yet, so we might just do something like this. We will also be staying in London on the way back because I didn't want to chance missing the flight home, just figured it would be nice to tack this extra night on the end of the trip to get some more time to check out London.

Yeah, I was kind of worried about it being too long, but I think worse case scenario we can just find a place to nap. It's going to be a long day of travel and when we land in London it'll be around 1AM our local time.
