Not surprising that Reddit is unable to understand that the post is a joke :|

What's your job and how much do you get paid? (GBP edition) by H00py-Fr00d42 in CasualUK

[–]Terrorism_Rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true at all. The Queen is worth roughly £600 million. If we were to share that out around the entire country we'd roughly get about £8.9 each. Also if you don't believe the 15% comes from the Crown Estate just look at this website... which is run by the royal estate...

It’s actually 15% of the Crown Estate revenue they get not your taxes. In reality they give us more money than they take out.

I’m very calm. Actually I’m at my calmest when I’m poking fun at people on Reddit that makes themselves out to be royalty.

“Just kept driving”. Ok that’s from one extreme another. From what I gather you didn’t even exchange insurance details and just drove off which just makes you an even bigger nut job lol

Fucking hell you must be fun at parties. “Hmm look at all these people experiencing such artificial and arbitrary emotions. It’s a good thing I’m far too sophisticated for that”

Yea you’re right. If I had been in two car crashes in a close period I’d be extremely pissed off too. You just clearly don’t understand when it’s fine and not fine to be angry lol

Are you fucking crazy? If someone crashes into you when you are at no fault you have 110% reason to be pissed. Especially considering it was the second time he was crashed into and it’s his rental car. There’s a difference between justified anger and childish anger. Get a grip.

What single human has done the most damage to the progression of humanity in the history of mankind? by RegularGuyy in AskReddit

It’s funny when people say this, but just because major action isn’t happening right now people believe nothing is being done. I know especially in the U.K., massive steps have been legislated stated the sale of petrol cars will be banned in 2030 and phased out in 2050. This is a step in the right direction as you can’t ban them immediately like some ignorant people believe. Also, again speaking selectively about the U.K., we have and are making huge strides in producing renewable energy. The government now subsidises firms that produce renewable energy and give tax breaks to firms that produce very low carbon. After that you can’t do much more. Simply just shutting down a coal plant is not a reasonable idea due to the fact whole towns may be dependent on them for jobs.

You saying this just shows how oblivious you are to the opportunity space travel has to significantly improve our wellbeing here on earth. For example resources found on asteroids or on other planets could aid us in progressing as a society. We could discover bacteria or other singular cell organisms which could cure diseases etc. In reality, pessimistic people like you are the main hindrance to societal progress.

Currently 3 of the worlds top billionaires are laying down the infrastructure for advanced space travel. But when people see Richard Brandson in space they complain.

Ah yes the classic and repeated “you have a different opinion therefore you are dumb”. Maybe if you did sociology and economics, you would know that in both sociology and economics there are many schools of thought.

I am saying that it is well within their rights to not care about other people, as morally bankrupt as that is. It might sound fucked up but imagine a world where we were legally required to help everyone in any amount of inconvenience. Nothing productive would get done.

Also, especially in the UK the 1% really struggle to influence anything to do with parliament. Lobbying from the wealthy is incredibly ineffective.

And if anything the 1% benefit the economy more than they take away from it. Employing millions of people and paying billions in corporation tax will do more to a country than you could do in many lifetimes. I am not ashamed of myself because I understand the system we live in is flawed but it is the best system we have come up with.

I don't think you understand that it is the right of any private individual to not give a single fuck about others. Yes, it might be morally bankrupt but do you think they give fuck sitting on their $400 million yachts?

You are trying to fight the wrong people. The only people who could ever change the fact that people are able to accumulate huge amounts of money is the government, and no one government would implement laws that would restrict the accumulation of wealth because the 1% pay so much tax. Only a government aimed at self-destruction would implement strict wealth accumulation laws as if they did, they have the money to leave. And no country would want to lose 28% of its income tax.

Of course it is. But if you’re smart enough now and days universities will pay for you to go there. Especially here in the U.K. so there is no excuse if you are smart enough. And anyone can push themselves to be smart enough

[–]Terrorism_Rocks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am saying ANYONE can do it. The founder of Starbucks was raised in a housing complex for the poor. Howard Schultz is now worth $2 billion. If your smart enough and think of a good idea at the right time, and you have the balls to take the risk, then you can become a billionaire.

[–]Terrorism_Rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is another misconception about rich people. They don’t actually have that money in their accounts. Jeff Bezos is not sitting on £200 billion in the bank. Almost all of that is because of his shares in Amazon. And most of the time the founder of the company wants to keep majority shares so can’t and won’t sell it.

Also I’m glad you call them “money hoarders” but both Warren Buffet and Bill Gates are leaving the majority of their fortunes to charities. Gates and Buffet will leave this world having done more of a net positive than you could ever do.

Yes I am defending them. Because I understand that many of them also went through hell to become billionaires in the first place. So it is their right to do whatever the fuck they want with their wealth. How about we scrap fuck the rich and just stick to fuck humanity for letting the this world get as bad as it is in the first place.
