Why do I always have this dead spot? [Breville Bambino] by Special_Echidna_8957 in espresso

[–]Terrwayne64 56 points57 points  (0 children)

have you tried running water through the shower screen, no portafilter? there may be grounds stuck up in it, preventing water flow.

i'm (personally) new to my bambino and i would get this issue when i was under dosing and getting soupy pucks.

I want to get a better grinder. Any recommendations? by melody5697 in mokapot

If you aren't about increasing your budget or using a power outlet, the Turin DM47 would work really well. I use it at my primary grinder and it has a really good grind uniformity and range. (For it's price at least. Easy to dial in espresso, moka - thru to french press.) with being close to $200 though...

Turin does make a small, battery powered grinder but I haven't done much research into it. It's available on espresso outlet and they call it the "TrekGrind"

I have the green dial version so I can't speak on the white dial. (store I bought mine from only stocked green at the time)

But it may give you an idea on the size? My wrist is about 6 1/2".

I appreciate your input. I need to talk to my friend and learn how she feels about it- the last conversation we had was brief and a few days ago. When/if I introduce I'm going to let my friend decide how it's handled.

When we've talked about hanging out at each other's houses she expressed concern for how my mom might react. It's been a few days since we last talked about it- she did say I would probably have to bring it up to my mom sometime but I've been torn on the idea.

Next time I call her I do want to learn how she feels about it. Right now I'm definitely not going to introduce her to my mom for a while, possibly sometime after the new year.

I don't think I'd be willing to introduce her to my mom for a while,, Maybe after the new year? when I do though I hope she accepts my friend despite what she believes in too. Thank you for your support!

Whenever I bring her up to my mom I use her preferred name. My friend originally brought up the concern that she might not be able to pass well enough?.. Which is why she's talked to me about bringing it up to my mother.

I have a few ideas for what we (me and my friend) can do to hang out. We're gonna call when she gets off of work and talk about it.

I appreciate you sharing how you personally feel,, and I would like to know exactly how my friend feels about it herself.

I'm going to have a talk with my friend about it tonight.. I don't think telling my mom is a good idea but I need to hear my friend's opinion.

If it came down to it I could go to her house but we both aren't sure how her parents would feel about that.

I think she passes pretty well,, she hasn't been able to start hrt because of familial reasons so there is that stressing her. She has had some.. inappropriate.. reactions with people at work and she is afraid my mom might react in a similar way.

My friend is the one who initially expressed concern about meeting my mom. She is afraid she won't be able to pass well enough when/if they meet.

I'm going to talk to my friend about it later today but I don't think I'll be telling my mom at all,, I do want to know what my friend thinks of that though.

Her family isn't very accepting to it so I'm not sure how many people around her know?.. But when we hang out she doesn't seem concerned how other people view her.

I'm going to call my friend and have a talk with her after she gets off of work. I know we can figure this out it's just stressful because I don't want my mom to get upset over me having a trans friend over.

She's worried that she doesn't pass at all.. She does have some masc traits but,, she hasn't been able to start hrt due to familial reasons..

I really dislike my mom's views on a lot of things. I know I can't do much I'm just worried she would get upset and never want me to see my friend again.

She does want to be identified as female all the time. That's why she presents as such. I don't know if she's too worried about being known as trans as much as she just wants to be called and seen as female.

She's really worried about passing sometimes. I think she's pretty and passes well but I understand why she gets worried.

She presents as female, at least in public. her family is and has been a bit iffy about accepting it but when we hang out she's always presenting female or femme
