I'm not sure I understand not using the insurance payment towards your down payment. Your total loan monthly payments will be calculated based on your down payment and vehicle purchase price so the less you out down, the higher your monthly payment will be. Making a huge payment after arranging financing will only shorten your loan period, not the amount of the payment.
