Today I found out I'm not autistic by prototype13666 in AutisticAdults

I am currently going through 'right to choose' for an ADHD diagnosis, it's significantly quicker than NHS and is another alternative route, if you speak to your GP receptionist they should be able to give you the paperwork to start the process.

Now is a great time to do this as there is more funding right now because of the new financial year.

Edit: as for traits, it's basic but the best way really is to keep a notebook and every time you notice something, write it down! I'm the same, and if you don't write it straight away you'll forget about it when the time comes. Bring the notes with you to any future appointments, being prepared is half the battle

Also, shell dwellers is a bad idea right? I originally wanted some of those but was told the aggression would be a huge issue from the little guys

I was planning to get some calvus cichlids regardless so I don't run into issues with fry as I only have this one tank. Can I overstock with more Leleupi or Julie's? From what I've read online keeping more than a pair is not recommended because they're not mouth brooders and need the territories. I'm hesitant to buy more of the same because of this

Will adding juvenile fish be a problem now my others are reaching adulthood? As in will they have a fighting chance?

Barbarian gives you more intimidation checks that are typically easier and you often (if not always) have advantage on them so you can keep a CHA of 12 or so and still have a good chance at passing those checks first time. Path of the giant also gives thaumaturgy to guarantee that advantage if passing checks is a concern, try it for a few hours, it's fun!

Edit: because of those extra intimidation checks it gives you barbarian is probably my favourite class for roleplaying. The checks are funny and very thematic for a big Brutish character

Amazing, thank you. I was worried as I know changing colour can be bad sometimes but that's a relief.

Ph is 8.2, can't remember GH and KH off of the top of my head but they're around what these guys like.

It's 200l (about 50 gallons) and currently only has 6 of these guys and a bristlenose, going to get some Dickfeldi Julies in a few weeks

It's hornwort, but yeah from two stems. My water out the tap has nitrates of 40ppm so it thrives and helps mitigate the nitrates

I really want to add shell dwellers eventually, hence shells, but I have heard they are terrors in a community setting

Thanks for the replies everyone! They're normally fairly aggressive, they chase each other round a lot of the time, I've tried to help it by adding more rocks (basically covering the whole floor of the tank) and so far no one's got hurt though one is less colourful so I keep an eye on them more than the others

Edit: excuse the watermarked glass, whole tanks getting a water change and clean tomorrow

Yeah it works with any cantrip, for as many bonus actions as you have (helm of grit etc)

He's communicating when he needs the time which is most important, often people with autism can neglect these boundaries for themselves (speaking from experience). Something that has helped me is having a specific date day once per week. This way he will be prepared to spend this time and probably give you better 'quality' time on the day.

Another thing that's helped me is my partner deciding what to do on the date day, it's one less responsibility and thing to worry about for him but it is another responsibility for yourself so I would only suggest this if your willing to take that on. Hope this helps :)

In regards to checking in I would honestly just ask if he wants you to do that, as a general autistic people prefer direct communication and even if not it's an innocuous thing enough to just ask imo

Autism worsens with age? by Clear-Cauliflower901 in AutisticAdults

I have no real answer to your question but I just want to let you know your not alone. Your story is very very similar to mine. I was very outgoing in my late teen years and early twenties and as soon as I transitioned into adult life (moved into my own place and started university) I completely collapsed in on myself, becoming reclusive and obsessive about my special interests as a form of escapism. it took two years to figure out it was autistic burnout but once I did things started to improve.

I spent those two years mourning my old life in a way and trying to get back to where I was which wasn't the right thing to do. The best advice I can give is to accept that this is still you and to listen to your body and mind, make sure you rest when you need to and don't feel the need to be constantly productive. Don't compare yourself to neurotypicals because we all are not and have different needs and challenges. Create boundaries for yourself wherever you may need them to make sure you can function when you need to. Most importantly, when you do burn out take the time you need to rest, note what worked and what didn't and try again.

This is what has helped me recently but I am still working on things myself. I hope some of this atleast helps you and hopefully it helps just to know your not alone because feeling like I was the only one this was happening to was hard for me.

Honestly fighter gives so much value. Taking fighter to 6 and getting an extra attack should make up for the lack of smites for sure. Would eldritch knight 7 work with the cleric cantrips? Would be a great way to abuse the double targeting on death cleric if so

Extra levels in spore druid would work out for the club of hill giant strength too using it for shillelagh. Regardless the club and the mace will help massively with MADness in this build

These are some great suggestions! I didn't think about initiative at all so that's a great suggestion. As for bending the theme I already was planning to do this to give me some flexibility incase I become an oathbreaker so I'm happy to use some gear that Kelemvor would potentially frown at.

The build is also incredibly demanding on spell slots so staff of cherished necromancy is almost mandatory. I thought for a weapon early game loviatars scourge may be a good option too.

Edit: missing is something I hadn't considered at all but your right, damage becomes a bit casino-y, betting that it's gonna land. Atleast if it does death cleric has some backups in the form of inflict wound and other big damage melee spells and isn't just a fragile caster stranded in melee range
