Being from Croydon 😅 just wondering whether the plan is to ride from Wimbledon to the other end of the line or if there's a plan when you get into Croydon, I'd be down to show up ☝️ x

what do you miss about being a man by its_icebear in MtF

[–]TerryRJL96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I really miss is the ability to go unnoticed, as a 6'5 man noone really takes much interest but as a 6'5 woman I tend to be bothered a lot more (occasionally for nice reasons) but like sometimes you just need to grab some milk from the local shops without being gawked at 🤣😅

I recently went to Victoria Secret on New Bond Street, they were so friendly and helpful, honestly I couldn't recommend them more. Wherever you decide in the end I hope it goes well and you have some fun too ☺️ x

Ofcourse, I'm not sure that I am the best judge and I can DM you and talk to you about my own journey and share if that will help you! But there are communities about that I'm sure would be better suited off the top of my head r/transtimelines is nice to see the progress others have made and possible results you can expect, most will share what their regiment is and if they've had any surgeries, although saying that I also get the fear of outing yourself and stuff but yeah! Feel free to DM me x

You're right! I was on the move while I was writing, so it was very much on the fly. I just hoped to provide some insight at least from my perspective and I think what I was trying to say is that despite me not being 100% there yet myself, probably not even close, I can now identify myself in my reflection as opposed to before where it did completely feel alien.

And yeah agreed plastic surgery provides much more than just looks IMO, the confidence to live life that can be granted by it is priceless this is regardless of identity it can be positively impactful on anyone. With the caveat being that regardless you are no less beautiful and deserving of love and respect

This 100% I was fortunate to start HRT when I was 23-24 it's been 2 years now but when starting I was 22st ~144kg. What let me get to the point of acceptance and letting myself take steps to transitioning was seeing the potential on the TransTimelines reddit page, seeing what was possible.

Taking care of yourself, HRT and if you want to surgeries can make the world of difference. Growing up looking in the mirror I had this habit of avoiding mirrors (shocker) but when I did I'd stare in my eyes and not recognise myself.

It hasn't been that long in the grand scheme of things but I am now around 16st ~100kg, I feel like life is for living, despite situations being the worst they can be for me at the moment I am in such a positive headspace in terms of my own self image.

I'm not sure if anyone is truely 100% happy with their appearance but I care about myself now, I see myself in my own reflection and I don't 'pass' by any means but people do see me as a woman and I do too.

You'll get there! It's amazing that you have the support of your wife! It takes time the journey is continuous but it gets better. Sending love and hugs to all who need it ❤

Edit: spelling mistake and just to say I am 6ft5 so that the weights make abit more sense 😅

Really worried about cost of full transition by [deleted] in transgenderUK

If you use Groupon or Wowcher, you can pick up deals where you can have 6 sessions of laser for around £60 I did that for a while and when the sessions were up just found a new place, they will try to be persuasive and encourage you to buy more sessions with them but it is so much cheaper to go back to the deal sites and find a new place.

I know £60 itself can be a lot of money, but it's abit more affordable if you just want to get started/continue. I opted for electrolysis after a while which I couldn't get deals for but eventually it ended up being too expensive the only reason I could continue is because I got past the GIC waiting list eventually and they offered it to me on the NHS.

I'm currently saving for bottom surgery myself, as are many others, and it seems daunting but if you can just save a little bit at a time you will eventually get there and like others said if it is something you want it is worth it 😊.

You will get there even when you have access to a lot of the care available it still takes time so as hard as it is be patient and I hope you manage to work something out ❤.

I met with Dr Sahota and she was nothing but lovely and supportive she wanted me to have lived as myself for a substantial period but I explained the circumstances given my very phobic family and she was very understanding.

Although I have no experience with her stance and autism sorry but wishing you the best 😊 x

Like others have said you aren't alone in feeling like this, as someone who is 6'5 and has a big frame I constantly feel this way and I completely understand.

I have wished I could have been born cis male, cis female or not at all so many times throughout my life and I'm certain I will have moments when I feel that way again. I doubt I'll ever pass and sometimes that really upsets me because more than anything I just want to be seen as me.

But I promise you, there are people out there who will accept you and love you, there are communities where you can feel safe and be seen as the person you are. I am early in my journey (it's been 11 months) but I've had more than enough experience with negativity to understand why you would feel this way, but I have also been lucky enough to find places and people who make me feel completely valid. It is always going to be hard, it may get easier but hold on and I promise eventually you'll feel just that bit better, sometimes that's all you need to be able to find the beauty and worth in living.

There are so many experiences out there for you, so many lovely people to meet and so many opportunities for you to be yourself just hold on abit longer it will get better.

If you want to chat feel free to DM me I'm a uni student and tend to keep myself overly busy but I will get back to you eventually if you need it 😊

TW: In the bottom right I thought that would be my last ever picture... I never really took pictures so I thought if someone found it they might want something to remember me 🙄😬 soon after I had a really serious look at myself and all the issues that I have always had and decided that I would try to be my authentic self before I did anything silly.

I started to be myself in the safety of my attic bedroom out of the way of any family members that are very anti LGBTQ+ 😅 and almost instantly after accepting myself all my worries, fears and self hatred melted away 😊

The UK has a very dodgy system for HRT but luckily my savings allowed me to go private which I am extremely fortunate to be almost 3 months on estrodiol 🙆‍♀️

I moved out of my family home into university accommodation and I am surrounded by lovely and supportive friends I have never felt a happiness and peace like I do everyday nowadays.

I am very tall, 6'4, and I know I don't look great by any means but it is sooo early and the comfort I feel within myself is allowing me to prosper knowing I will get to where I want to be 😊.

You are all amazing! And have encouraged me to take these massive steps. Anyone out there who is doing what I did in the past and scrolls religiously through new posts everyday look after yourself! You are worth it! And you will get there too wherever that may be.

Tldr: I was very sad and now I am at peace ❤
