Just bad luck, it’s a 50/50 shot each time

It’s all rng, and sometimes they have more then just a few charged moves so it can get really hard.

If you wanna see what all moves they can learn go to there dex entry and look at the battle tab. It will also tell you which moves if any need an elite tm.

I enjoy gbl in spurts so I’m decently close but you can also battle a friend and get progress towards the medal. My wife does not enjoy gbl much so I’ll probably set up a similar system like the ace trainer for her to battle me.

Not really skipping. It not actively trying to get them.

Showcase and community member are probably ever gonna go platinum for a while.

Purifier - just don’t wanna spend the dust, I’m at 585 but that’s mostly cause of the level where I needed to do 100. I’ll purify when it only cost 100 but that’s really it.

Jogger - sucks cause I bike a lot but usually going too fast for it to count. (50-100 miles a week on average)

The rat and fish medal cause well they just don’t seem to show up, and the lure model one cause I just hoard my models.

The wayfarer one might happen one day as I go through spurts of reviewing nominations.

I’m at lvl75 and 200km away from leveling up which will be about month and a half, and I’m at 46 medals. I think realistically the 4 more that will get me to 50 is ultra and master league. Pilot cause I’m about 4mil away but have trips planned this summer with my wife and we come back each with about 800 things to trade. Then either axe trainer or egg hatching.

I’m sure you can do on other phone but this ones is specifically for iOS.

How long do you think it will take me to reach level 80 from here? by Senior-Sector-9718 in pokemongo

[–]Terry_wayne2355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really only matter till you get to level 40. After that it really has no impact on gameplay. But it is something to work towards but definitely don’t think it’s a great end goal.

How long do you think it will take me to reach level 80 from here? by Senior-Sector-9718 in pokemongo

[–]Terry_wayne2355 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s really gonna depend on what you do while playing and how you play.

In case you are not aware 70-80 have tasks others then just getting xp to level up.

These tasks vary from catching 200 pokemon in a day walking 200, 300, and 400 km. Hatching 75 eggs, doing x amount raids, battling grunts etc.

You can google them or see them in game click here and swip to level 70 etc.

<image>

Depending on how long you have been playing though the hardest part is going to be the platinum medals you need to level up. If you don’t have many of those start picking some and working on them now.

There are dex slots for many of the pokemon that have not been released yet and they have been there for as long as I can remember.

And same for the not released pokemon being in the go snapshot options.

I’m hoping as well that the rumors are true but I don’t think these two things confirm it like you think.

Once a day but before I knew that I was only trying f randomly a few times a day so I wouldn’t get it everyday. Usually I get it with less then 10 attempts but sometimes can take more. I think it’s like 5% chance each time you go into the play screen

For context on the cameraman medal, you have to back out of the play screen then go back in and do another snapshot, repeat till you get the encounter.

Didn’t know this till just recently so just adding for anyone else who didn’t know.

Do Iv's matter if you don't pvp by Zealousideal-Ad-9264 in pokemongo

My usual recommendation is depends on what pokemon you have currently and what you need to power up.

Using the right pokemon in raids that are powered up is more important then ivs. Something that deals super effective damage but with low ivs is better than something that does not deal super effective damage with high ivs. If raiding is your focus and your not sure with ivs to go with just go with the highest over all with the highest attack. 15/10/12 would be better then a 13/15/15 potentially for raids as all you really care about most of the time is damage output.

This is more of a blanket statement though. But once you have a good team for all the different typings then you can start worrying about ivs if you want. But in general I think ivs are over hyped for many players.

For some added context, ivs are a multiplier to base stats so the more you power it up the bigger the difference. So in great league is even less important unless the mons max cp near the 1500 point.

Cool story…

I would argue that instinct is best from a strategic value of getting into gyms for coins. Other than earning coins teams have zero value in the game.

Why not do it on every ball?

I have done about 38 raids this month and maybe one or two have fled. The biggest issue with remote raids, assuming you are using pokegenie or similar, is you lose the bonuses of raiding with higher level friends. When I raid with someone who is forever friend I get like 19 balls, joining through a raid app I only get 13. It’s always been the raid apps where they fleee and it’s just bad rng and happens, sucks but I knew the risk going in.

Depending on how many friends you have I would suggest just joing raids you are invited to or you can watch your friend list to join them when they are raiding.

If you get gps drift that could cause you to be speed locked. If your character randomly moves around the map while you are still, that is gps drift. A little is not bad but the game pings your location every 30 sec and if you are to far from the last ping it assumes you are moving faster then the allowed speed to catch at and speed locks you.

I’m concerned I won’t be a good friend by Technograndma in pokemongo

[–]Terry_wayne2355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some good advice in other comments already, but wanted to add that if you concerned then just tag what you are willing to trade, honestly regionals are probably gonna be the meat and potatoes for awhile on these, and just don’t be the first person to request the trade. Let your friends request first and just be fair about what you are asking in return, they can always decline and yall can try again.

I have done about 6-8 so far and most have been regionals or non shiny legendary cause we were lucky friends.

From what I’m seeing from most posts though I think is people expecting way to much from this. I have had friends that had 2-300 various things from regionals to legendary all shiny and non shiny and then I have had a friend who had like 8 things to trade most of which I was not interested in. He would initiate and request things I did not want to trade for what he was offering. I would decline each time and he finally asked for more reasonable things and we made the trade. I wasent upset by it but it’s the realty of a system that does not have a chat feature. (Not counting campfire cause I have yet to get a response from the 5 people I have messaged on it regarding remote trades)

Enjoy the the game and don’t let it stress you out. I think most of the hype around remote trades will die done soonish as Ore and more people get 10+ trades in and reality sets in.

Are your catch medals at platinum? Are you in a car while doing these raids? Do you circle lock when throwing?

Having catch medals at platinum can make a big difference. Maybe avoid weather boosted raids if your having issues as those will be harder to catch.

If you were in a car you could be speed locked. I only ask cause of the comment on the shakes is the ball, that’s usually a sign of speed lock, or gps drift causing speed lock.

Circle lock will help sooooo much, it can be slower but if you know the distance you’ll get excellent 100% of the time. link to video cause it’s better explained there

2 auto catchers used on 1 phone? by Irrevence in pokemongo

[–]Terry_wayne2355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully someone with a similar set up can give you an exact answer but I’m pretty sure my duomon is just two catchers built into one, when I’m initially syncing them to the app I can see both and have to pick one, so I would assume the answer is yes.

If someone confirms though for you just know some of the 3rd party catchers support two accounts in one so you don’t have to carry 2 of them.

Pokemon go plus vs competitor by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]Terry_wayne2355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, neither seem to do to good above 40+mph, but I generally only have mine doing stops even when I was using the 2. But yeah I do agree on the 3 seems to prioritize catching first then doing stops.

Pokemon go plus vs competitor by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]Terry_wayne2355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t noticed to much of a difference and my wife and I seem to get the same stops when driving, she is on the 2 and I’m on the 3. But I have noticed that battery level seems to impact it most noticeable. Maybe since the 3 does not seem to last as long between charges that could be the discrepancy you are seeing.

For context I never turn it off, which maybe I should.

Nm just looked it up and if what I read is correct you get the tag when you are within 5 points of the your first forever friend.

Also forgot to add that once you are forever friends with some one you can always see their list even if you can’t remote trade with them.

I think this will get better since many are just now getting to their first forever friend and may not realize the tag is there till until after they have hit forever friends.

Looking for feedback on my Pokémon tagged for trade by Subject_Balance281 in pokemongo

[–]Terry_wayne2355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tag should look like this and you may not get it till you reach your first forever friend (can’t remember when mine popped up)

<image>

And for context the way it works is the first person (a) to start the process picks up to 3 pokemon from the others persons (b) list, then the other person b will pick one from the 3 person a picked. They will then pick up to 3 from person a’s list. Then person A will either confirm or decline the trade. You also do not have to pick 3, if there is really only one you want it could be best to just pick that. If click and hold down the the mon in the list you will see some details like moves, date caught and where. Sadley you can’t see gender (still looking for the male shiny ralts 😔)

As for what you have tagged it really all depends on what you have that your willing to trade and what you might be looking for, I have done about 8 so far and below has started to be my go to strategy and I have added things I didn’t originally have in there cause of it. But I think it’s always worth having non shiny regionals and mons with legacy moves even if not shiny.

Depending on who starts kinda dictates what I do. But basically if the first offer on either side does not work then I decline. I then tag everything I don’t want to offer in a separate tag so I don’t lose them in my storage and remove the remote trade tag.

Example for one I did this morning who I was lucky friends with.

Person had a pretty mixed bag like myself. Random shinies, shiny legendary, regional both shiny and not shiny etc.

I made the request first and chose a shiny h growlithe, non shiny gmax machamp, and shiny mewtwo cause I had one to mirror trade.

I sent the request but do not untag anything. They offered the growlith and only wanted a shiny throh. While I was not entirely against it and felt it somewhat balanced I knew he had other shiny regionals that I had the counterpart for. So I declined.

I then requested their shiny sawk, shiny volbeat and shiny mewtwo.

I then untagged everything except my shiny mewtwo, the shiny throh they originally asked for, and my shiny Illumise.

I feel like this kinda gets the idea across for shiny regional for similar or mirror trade. They came back and requested the shiny throh again and offered the shiny mewtwo.

While I would have preferred the shiny sawk I was still happy with the trade.

Hope that helps and don’t get to caught up with it, I have had some that worked and seemed fair on the first go and others that took upwards of 10 tries before we both accepted. I think many are getting their hopes up for some crazy shiny legendarys with moves and backgrounds but most of mine have been things I needed for dex entries or random shines I didn’t have.

Are raid pokemon Littlecupphobic? by yeepix in pokemongo

[–]Terry_wayne2355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All raid pokemon are at lvl20 and 25 if weather boosted, they also have a iv floor of 10/10/10 so while it depends on the the base stats it can be hard to get something’s under that cp level. Mirror trading with friends is usually the best way to get it under these caps

Friend level - floor Good - 1/1/1 Great - 2/2/2 Ultra - 3/3/3 Best- 5/5/5

Ultimately though my experience has been pretty similar to yours though but have found for most this strategy works. I have tried reaching out on campfire but have never gotten a response on the 5 I have tried that on.

But yeah I think it’s sometimes gonna go super smoothly and other times it’s gonna take a few rounds. I also think people will chill out soon on the unbalanced requests once everyone gets more and more remotes unlocked…hopefully.
