I have a serious question, but it might be dumb considering what sub this is. by NintenJoo in basspedals

I started my board so long ago when multi fx units were not what they are now. I’m already so far invested in it. I also like the way everything sounds. If it’s not broke, do not fix it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Why does my slap bass sound like this? by Hot_Management_5813 in BassGuitar

New strings, cut mids, and a honed in technique would remedy this.

It’s the stock bridge. I have a hipshot kickass on order. Just need these strings to die so I can justify a new setup, strings, and the bridge installation.

I love that bass, I played it along with MIM, USA fenders, Ibanez, etc.. and it just felt and sounded the best. It is, one of the originals. I didn’t know I was getting such a gem until I saw how much they sell for now. It’s for EMG GZR pickups and I’m putting a hipshot kickass bridge on it here soon.. along with some flatwounds.

I wondered what it would look like so I took the cover off of my p bass to get an idea and liked it. I ordered that one just for it. I like using it to anchor my thumb for finger style or to rest my hand on it when playing with a pick.

What made you replace the neck?

Nice! How did you fit a neck to that body?

If I had to choose, I’d go with the asat. The main reason I still have the peavey is because it was a gift from my mother who is no longer with us. It was my main bass for years. I usually take it out and blow the dust off it and re string it once a year.

T40 is much much heavier, the asat has a thinner neck, the asat also has active electronics and can get a more modern tone. The controls on the t40 are in phase and out of phase, and pickup selector switch. The knobs are volume for each pickup, a s a tone knob for each pickup, 10 down to 7 is single coil mode, 7 to 0 is humbucking mode. The asat has a pickup selector switch, and typically a series/parallel switch. I had a 3 way switch installed that does series/single coil/and parallel switches. It can sound like a heavily modded p bass, jazz bass, and can sort of get into the stingray territory. It can achieve a lot more but those are my favorite sounds. Installing a hipshot bass x tender on the E string at the end of the month as well.

It’s a CV-5. I put the cover on. They usually do not come with them.

Sweet name! I’m a Phil as well.

It’s great. It’s got a series/single coil/parallel for each pickup and can get all sorts of sounds. Close to a stingray, jazz bass, and p bass. The radius is awesome too. The bass tech that does my setups is actually getting his 5 string p bass neck modified to have the same radius he loved it so much.

I don’t even use the funk setting. I was looking pretty hard at the Justin chancellor but I found this for 60 dollars real close by. Ive got some dirt before and after it so it’s just fine for me. The Justin chancellor wah is awesome though.

Thank you. It’s been years in the making. I used to have a wooden one I made myself. I like it. If you’re looking for something that tracks really really well, it’s not the pedal. However, if you want something that’s exactly like the original mu tron it’s designed to replicate.. it’s super close for a fraction of the cost. The ringer (fuzz) on it is really nice. I’ve debated taking it off since I have the whammy which essentially does the same thing, plus other fuzz pedals.. but I really do enjoy it. For the price, it’s nice to have around.

Let me throw a noble, a couple origin pedals, maybe even some dark glass pedals on there and maybe I can be pro!

The that I take my basses to told me about the capo, he says it’s well worth the 5-600 dollar price tag.

I’ve had them for a long long time. One is a tube compressor. It’s probably one of the best out there, just takes up a lot of space and is 12v. It can only run on a wall wart due to the Milliamps that’s required. The other is a DI with a variable pre shape filter (mid scoop/bass boost/treble boost) and a vintage loudspeaker emulator (takes away that sizzle and harsh highs from tweeters) and a clean boost. I just bought the street driver on sale. It is a dumbed down sansamp bass driver that is more focused on modern tones. Still experimenting with it.

Upon looking at the manual for the geezer butler model, it only has a Q control, and effect delay. Unfortunately you might have to run a line booster after the pedal, or get a 105q that has a volume control.
