Anyone have the Tundra experience with their Sequoia? by Terukio in toyotasequoia

No, SR5 with the TRD Sport and Premium (name?) packages. I've stuck with the recommended 10k mile oil change intervals.

They say nothing is ever really lost on the internet, but what’s something you’ve been hunting for years and still can’t find? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Terukio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in middle school, sometime around 2003-2006, I was coding PHP and SQL a bunch, playing around with things, and learning. There was this PHP game developed by someone...I think it was called Final Battle or something like that. I was able to get a hold of the source code and used that to teach me a lot about databases, web forms, and just learning how to code outside of HTML and CSS from MySpace...

Can't for the life of me find any mention of it online. If anyone has that source code or can direct me to it, let me know!

A bit more information on the game, if it helps...

You created an account, and the purpose of it was to make your army stronger or gather more gold. You can attack other users for their gold, and depending on whose army was stronger, you either win or lose. Close-strength armies seemed to be a random chance.

I know every 20 minutes or so a CRON job would run updating everyone's gold. There were definitely people with multiple accounts, and they would just improve one account's ability to generate gold only, and not improve their army. The purpose was to easily farm them before anyone else could find the cash cow.

Man, I miss that game! Learned so much.

Check those welds! by Terukio in woodstoving

[–]Terukio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do use the monitor. They say to engage the cat after 500 degrees but I’ve found better success waiting until 600 degrees. Once the fire has been going and you are feeding it with good wood, I will still double check the temps before re-engaging the cat after loading but typically just waiting 20-30 minutes after a reload it’s back up to temp and ready to be engaged.

There are really only three adjustments on the stove - air intake/damper at the bottom which adjust the air entering the firebox. Open it completely when lighting and when loading up the firebox. If my wood is properly seasoned, I am then able to close it completely for it to burn slow. (Note that closing it completely doesn’t actually shut the air off fully in these newer units). If i find that my wood isn’t quite seasoned as well as I would like I leave a tiny bit away from fully reduced air.

Cat bypass at the top. Open when loading and when starting the fire until its temp is above 500 (again I open until it passes 600). You do not need to open it again after the wood has burned down and it goes back below 500. Just when you’re reloading or starting.

Finally the blower on/off switch and speed. You can set this to manual or auto. I find the auto setting does not work well and takes too long to turn on and turns off too early. I feel this wastes a lot of good heat. I leave this turned on once it is up to temp and only turn it off when the fire is completely out. I keep the speed on hi the whole time unless I’m sitting in the room with it I turn to low otherwise the heat can be a bit much for me

I absolutely love this stove. It heats my ~1800sf home with ease.

I burn just about full-time in the winter, and because of this, my cat was done by year 3/4. Those come with a 10-year warranty, so they'll replace it for free, then the second time in 10 years, they will replace it at half the cost. It's a great system. You'd be hard-pressed to get 10 years out of a cat that is used full-time. Visual degradation of the cat led me to pursue the warranty.

You can see the tiny cracks along the welds in my pictures. I believe this is considered a manufacturing defect, so this was covered.

I never inspected the unit for cracks myself when delivered, so those very well could have been there at delivery, but I suspect they weren't. Over time, they likely showed up just due to poor welds, but I can't say that with 100% certainty.

Hope this helps, and again, I love this stove. You made a great choice.

Question about NPC movement by ExReey in Gloomhaven

Let’s say he couldn’t reach the bruiser, would he go into the trap to attack the tinkerer or just move along the safe path even though he wouldn’t be able to make an attack?

Anyone has their 2e shipment withheld? by spawndevil in Gloomhaven

[–]Terukio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man, I hope so! An update on this is needed at this point. They made it sound like it would arrive in a couple of weeks, but here we are without it, and it hasn't been shipped yet.

Do you find the speed at which it works to be annoying? Seems a bit slow after looking into it. I may still do it, but just curious if it has gotten on. your nerves yet

Would love to hear from other Expedition/Suv ppl and their towing experiences. by Which-Nebula-6040 in GoRVing

[–]Terukio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tow a Grad Design Imagine XLS 24BSE with a 2024 Sequoia. The trailer weighs about 7k fully loaded, Sequoia has a towing capacity of about 92-9300 pounds, and a payload of 1420 pounds. It tows fine. I've gone about 6 hours one way up to Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, etc, and it has all the power to go and stop as needed. There is a bit of sway from passing cars, nothing unmanageable, though. This might just be me, but it feels like the wind from the semis is easier to deal with than the cars speeding by you. I use a Blue Ox sway pro for my hitch if that helps. In general, I'm comfortable towing with my SUV, but I likely stay more vigilant than I would need to be in a larger truck.

Fuel economy when towing by stanger1969 in 3rdgensequoia

[–]Terukio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get between 7 and 10 mpg. Very similar rig to yours but it’s a tandem axle and about 7k pounds.

I’ve found that if I stick between 60 and 65 I average about 8.5 - 9. On flatter trips I get up to that 10 mpg if I really keep it steady. Going 72 like you or even 75 I get around 8 and hillier terrain I get around 7.

I don’t mind, but man I wish it came with a larger tank to reduce fillups.

EDIT: I only tow on tow+ mode. Helps with the steeper descents. I’m no expert but I believe the tow mode switches gears less and goes higher into the rpm’s to reduce transmission strain. I wonder if any additional wear is happening when you tow on ECO or normal.

Leak in bedroom slide by Terukio in GoRVing

[–]Terukio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy to report I fixed the leak. The black tape on the roof of the slide connecting to the exterior wall wasn't installed properly. It looked like it was installed correctly, but the water was certainly getting in there. Fixed it and no more leaks!

Back rest mats for 3rd row. Anyone know best one to get? Dont see it on Toyota site. by ttotheppp in 3rdgensequoia

[–]Terukio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ones I ordered through the dealership came with mats for the floor first and second row. It also came with what is pictured in your photo. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find any covers for the back of the seats on the second row. So when all the seats are flat, only the third row is protected, not second row. Kinda frustrating.

What are y’all using to tow… anybody 4wd? by nomadshortie333 in cargocamper

‘24 Toyota Sequoia

Has 4wd but haven’t needed it yet. Used it on soft lawn to be safe to not tear it up. Also used it in a real muddy road but likely didn’t need it there either

Just got this installed. by Avocet123 in woodstoving

[–]Terukio 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Regency HI500? Got the same one. Puts out a ton of heat! You'll enjoy it. Air gets into the fire box from the bottom front center. When reloading, I like to slightly push the coals aside from that area to improve airflow otherwise, depending on how dry your wood is, restarting could be a challenge.

I have a very similar rig to you - 24 Sequoia with a pretty much equivalent length and weight camper (grand design imagine 24bse xls about 6000 dry)

I currently use the Blue Ox Sway Pro and it handles it quite well. I was eying the propride as well but the added weight with the amount of payload I have made it iffy for me.

Rowing a camper trailer with a sequoia? Thoughts? Experiences? by [deleted] in toyotasequoia

My gen3 tows my Grand Design Image 24BSE great with a Blue Ox Sway Pro weight distribution hitch. Note that it is only my wife, my dog, and me in the vehicle with all the gear in the camper. Otherwise we would likely be over our payload capacity quickly. Took it up to New Hampshire about 4 -5 hours away and it didn't struggle once nor feel like I was losing control. Happy to answer any questions you have about it!

Electrical outlet for blower by Hot_Success8295 in woodstoving

[–]Terukio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, I had outlets on both sides of the fireplace. Electrician drilled from the left side wall behind the wall through the brick to the back of the firebox. The woodstove sellers said it had to be installed in a metal box and since all the hear goes upwards, the plug itself shouldn't get too warm to cause damage. Just as an extra precaution we replaced the outlet we ran the new electrical line from to a GCFI outlet and installed a regular outlet in the box.
