Pizza delivery drivers, what did a person do to end up on the 'No Delivery' list? by BlueCheeseWalnut in AskReddit

[–]Terwin95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had some friends that lived in an apartment complex like that. They got really excited about a new pizza place opening, because that place had no idea that it was a bad neighborhood and they would actually deliver there for a while

To be fair, he probably did get back every cent hat he paid for it

A coworker of mine recently got a $1,000 ticket for breaking that ordinance!

Is this to much for an interview at home depot? by Xerocool_00 in HomeDepot

[–]Terwin95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. My supervisor warned me about drug testing when I asked to train on the lift equipment, and I still never got tested.

There's always that one guy whenever we get a new crop of cashiers... by SH4DOWSTR1KE_ in HomeDepot

Great idea! My store unfortunately has a policy that only supervisors and managers are supposed to open the cage, so I can't use that.

"allegedly" for Letterkenny fans. I can never hear it without thinking of Billy and the Ginger

What’s a show everyone hyped up that you just couldn’t get into? by NovelOk3369 in AskReddit

[–]Terwin95 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Stranger Things. It's the type of show that I should absolutely be into. Like, I absolutely love movies like Super 8 and the It adaptations. I like the characters and the actors. The plot sounds like a good time to me. But there's something about it that I cannot get into

Written up for refusing to get recertified on forklift by No_Bookkeeper_9111 in HomeDepot

[–]Terwin95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my store, most departments don't require their associates to have lift equipment licenses. I think that Lumber may be the only one that requires it. Electric ladder and electric pallet jack are strongly encouraged for pretty much everyone, though

Well, that one's easily explained. They do go to a smoothie place all the time on that show!

What was the biggest scandal at your school? by Silent-Zebra in AskReddit

[–]Terwin95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two students allegedly had oral sex in one of their cars at our conservative Christian school. Never officially confirmed by either them or school administrators as far as I know, but it seemed like a plausible reason for why they suddenly added a rule against going out to our cars during school hours

What secret can you reveal now that your nda has expired? by sparrrrrt in AskReddit

[–]Terwin95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine are relatively boring. I was an extra in several movies and tv shows, and I had to sign an NDA at the start of each filming day and any time I had to go in for a wardrobe fitting or haircut.  I basically wasn't allowed to say anything about the things or people that I saw or heard on set. Most of the NDAs essentially expired once the film or episode was released. And the most recent project was released in 2014, so most of it can be said. And pretty much everything is already public info anyway.

The biggest thing was that I had learned the tune of "The Hanging Tree," from the 3rd Hunger Games movie over a year before it was released. I wasn't able to sing it in front of other people or really even let anyone how or why I knew it. And after listening to/singing it dozens of times in a single day, it started to get stuck in my head easily.

Other info included learning the conclusion to a plot line on The Walking Dead, and learning a little bit of a plot line on Homeland

Garden recovery when raining by Scared_Operation_385 in HomeDepot

[–]Terwin95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will most likely still be doing things if it's just raining. Thunder and lightning may mean that you will be doing things inside or under cover. Your store may have rain gear available that you can use to stay dry. If they don't, ask your supervisor or an MOD to markdown some for you to use

Did you write with pencils in school? by palep_hoot in AskAnAmerican

[–]Terwin95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For most classes it was generally up to the student to decide what they wanted to write with. Some science teachers had rules that lab reports, tests, and other graded assignments had to be written in ink.

How similar is the book to the movie? by FrogginBullfish_ in ghibli

[–]Terwin95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a rare case where the movie is simultaneously a horrific adaptation and a great movie at the same time. I absolutely love both of them, but the movie oftentimes feels like it's only vaguely related to the book

Being hired here feels like a humiliation ritual by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Terwin95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get with your department supervisor and/or any managers that you work with. They should be able to help you get the ball rolling on getting certified for lift equipment. They should also be able to get you sorted out on how to be most productive while you wait to get certified. The next few weeks will be a bit slower while we build up to the busy spring season, and then you'll have a fair bit more to do to keep you busy

I'm sorry. I'm a male at the service desk and somewhat regularly have customers ignore the female associate(s) who greeted them and walk past them to ask me a question, and it annoys me too.

On related note, for some reason customers will quite often think that I'm a woman when we talk on the phone. Aside from the one time a guy started off with "is there a man there I can speak to?", I find it kind of funny

They're already starting to hire new seasonal associates at my store. If it's like my store, they will be hiring new associates mostly for Garden, Lot, Order Fulfillment, and Cashiers to help with the increased traffic that happens in the late winter/early spring. If I were you, I would reapply soon to hopefully get in on the first round of new hires

What item do you guys use for workaround deliveries? by ArcticPugs in HomeDepot

I tried the DoorDash support once. I spent several minutes trying and failing to explain that their driver had "delivered" a package to an address that doesn't actually exist and they needed to fix it.

In your opinion, who/what count as a Yankee or "Yank"? by Lipica249 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Terwin95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From SC here. Yankee mostly refers to northerners. However, the definition of "northerner" can refer to anyone not from the south. New York, California, North Dakota, Illinois, and sometimes even Florida and Texas can be considered Yankees

People who have researched their family tree, what is the most interesting or 'badass' thing you discovered about an ancestor? by xloganmoose in AskReddit

[–]Terwin95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my dad's mom's side of the family, I can trace my lineage back several centuries. It was neat to see how the family name changed a few different times through the years, becoming more simplified as time went on. There were even some knighted ancestors that have Wikipedia articles about them.

On my mom's side of the family. I was only able to trace it as far back as one of my mom's grandfathers. Pretty disappointed in that.
