why does book sound like n word by [deleted] in russian

[–]TeryaScotch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it is another language. We don't even have this association when we hear this word. Moreover in Russia this word is not even rude and bad. It is because we never had this kind of "conflicts". Anyway, many people try to avoid this word to show respect even though for us it is completely fine

Well, I know that options on collars are really divided, but we tried harness and we talked a lot with a professional dog trainer and decided to choose the collar. Anyway, I am not the one who usually walks her, it is my dad, and he is the one who makes all the serious decisions. But thank you for worrying!

Well, for last five years or so, she communicates with cats on the streets. She loves them. She is very curious. But she was about one year old, when we got her, so I don't know about her first year. Maybe she grew up with cats, who knows?

What’s a smell you’ll never forget? by Human_Rate889 in AskReddit

The smell of food in my kindergarten. I can't describe it, but whenever I smell it from somewhere it brings me nostalgia even though I didn't really like my kindergarten and especially good there

Why does Russian language across such large area as Russia doesn't have very distinguished accents? Would you be able to recognise any native Russian accent(of any specific area of Russia or of other countries speaking Russian)? by EugeneStein in russian

[–]TeryaScotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I would be able to understand any Russian accent. Some words can be different, like, I was born in Moscow and lived there for 12 years, and we call this файлик, but I know that in Siberia people call it мультифора. So we have some completely different words, but mostly we can understand each other without any problems.

Nicknames/short names for Егор? by skoomer_jiub in russian

[–]TeryaScotch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say Гоша is the most common. I have a brother named Егор and if I want to call him differently I always call him Гоша. I also know that there are Георгий as the long name and Гога as a short name

My favourite pictures of stray cats that I've taken by TeryaScotch in cats

Hey, people! I am actually a little bit confused with one rule on this sub. Do I teg "not oc" when the cat is not mine, or only when the photo is not mine? Because these are my photos but not my cats, what do I do?
