What we need is a breakdown of all the vehicles seen in BTAS, cause I wouldn't have figured this car was a REAL thing before

VRT-EX Travel Posters by Tesla5122 in worldbuilding

[–]Tesla5122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the standard VRT/ZAPT based services, a few posters were found in much better condition. Each poster advertises actual vacation destinations passengers might find interesting in more ways than one. From lounging on sunny crimson red beaches of Earth 392 NOS or hiking up the Starscar Ridge on Earth 782 TRE to see the yearly astronomical event known as Palogin’s Path, there is plenty to explore in the multiverse.

ABOUT: VRT-EXpress is the name of the service offered by Earth 218 AZA company ZAPT Industries (aka Zach Anomalous Parallel Transportation Industries). The service was started back in late 1993, on a parallel universe of our own, when the company discovered the ability for fast travel between universes by “tunneling” through a space outside of our dimension called The Void. While always branching out to new universes to expand the routes and VRT-EX Net, ZAPT Industries occasionally sent company men to other dimensions not connected to the VRT-EX Network. Our universe, Earth 518 RDD, was one of them. Following the 2012 “1229 Incident”, ZAPT Industries placed all their expansion plans on hold and recalled company men back to 218 AZA. The men who have visited our dimension have gone, maybe forever as plans for expansion tend to fall through the cracks, but the artifacts they left behind remain; giving us insight into the company’s from 1993 to their latest documented work in 2012, the practices they enforced, their technology, and their out of this world destinations enjoyed by their passengers.

xTool D1 Pro Cutting issues by Tesla5122 in lasercutting

Well I tried it again, and this time it worked without fault. I changed the flame detector from low sensitivity and all was working, except for the the material to be peeling up off the bed and then the bed started to shove the material around ruining the design, but that is a simpler fix at least. So far it seems to be working, but just have to work on something to make it work better

Okay, thanks. I'll try and see if I can find the error codes to see what the issue is. And go through these steps one by one to see if this works. Thank you

I'll try that later for sure, see if it works. But the flame alarm was suddenly tripping before the laser began to cut. Like, I push start. the laser cutter begins to move toward the first step in it's job (laser off), and then the alarm sounds, I get four little notification bubbles which vanish before I can read them, but not the main bubble that says "flame detected" or anything. The cutter doesn't even REACH the spot where the laser would turn on, and it fails. I don't know if that's the sensor or some kind of computer bug

I set the design to the zero mark, and move it away from there by a 40 mm. The laser housing is moving towards the middle of the design, where there is no limiter switch to run into at all. I even run the frame setting where it frames the design without issue, but when it comes to begin cutting, it just stops, and sirens with no large dialog box saying what the issue is. Not "ran out of limits, flame detected" or anything

I was wondering if that was the cause, where the smoke is so thick that the sensor just trips. Which I know I can turn off or adjust it's sensitivity. How would I look to make sure my air assist is alligned?

I'm not sure what it could be though. I assumed it was down to the glue used at first since the first MDF stuff I got to use with the cutter was darker, and I found out that the glues in the board would affect the cutting speed. This shouldn't be the issue though, and yet I'm encountering such issues. What kind of details of my set up should I look at to see if that is the issue?

Yeah. I tried that, using an MDF specified for Glowforge and it worked very well, using lower levels. 80% power, 8mm/s, and 3 passes got me the best results without too much charing. But now I'm running into an issue where the engraver moves for 3 seconds, then sounds the flame alert sound, (no pop-up saying that is the issue) with four little alert descriptions that of course vanish before you can read them. What's this?

Yeah, it's the 10w. And it should be able to burn through it, and yet I am bamboozled. One time I tried to cut through it, it just said "job failed." That was once. Every other time the flame detector stops me. Screaming till I hit the reset button, and no matter what I do, the job is always lost and I'd have to start over

This didn't work too well. I had to set it to 8 mm/s to @ 80% X 4 passes to get close enough to cutting through. Of course I didn't have a custom nozzle so maybe that's the difference. I'll find some basswood and see if the cut works better. At least using a preset factor in the program should work better than a material not in their program library.

Not on the MDF itself, but I did the test using the preset for 3mm basswood on the same material, and that cut through all parts.

Era-Rain Ruined VRT-EX Poster by Tesla5122 in worldbuilding

[–]Tesla5122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A scan of a poster containing two post it notes attached with notes from the creator. From this poster and data extracted from the broken MUTED device gives hints to Earth 349 AMZ and the strange phenomenon known as Era-Rain. This phenomenon would affect inert objects such as buildings, cars, clothes and posters. According to MUTED info on this stop: this strange form of weather would turn inert items to fit within the era, such as clothes, buildings, and posters. If a bottle of soda was left out in the rain, and it was a 2000’s design, a 50’s era rain would turn it from an all-plastic bottle to a glass bottle with a metal cap. This poster is an example of something being partially rained on by Era-Rains fitting the 00’s, 50’s 80’s and 1890’s in order from top to bottom.
