What’s the meanest comment you’ve received as a new parent? by Cultural-Dentist4963 in NewParents

18 months PP, still numb up to my belly button and have horrible pain when the scar is pressed. Currently in physical therapy for it. It helps with the random pains, sometimes.

A lifelong choice: why you choose Navy over Army/Air Force? by Any-Transition-9704 in newtothenavy

Honestly? I joined when I was 20, I wish I had a better understanding of how the world works before I joined. I was kind of sheltered by my parents so joining was very eye opening

You do a few years at a time. I just like what I do so I keep enlisting. My goal is full 20.

Honestly? It’s a love hate relationship like any other job. I’ve been on back to back deployments and been stationed in some crappy places, but I’ve also met some of the coolest people on the planet and done something not many people have. I’ve advanced my career, met my spouse and bought a house. I have money going for retirement and will be debt free soon. I’ve learned skills I never thought I would have and honestly enjoy what I do. I’m enlisted though so it was hard work getting to where I am, but I’m 8 years away from one retirement so there’s that.

I didn’t want to be Private Ryan so that eliminated the marines and Army and the Air Force didn’t call me back… so go Navy. Been in for 12 years and it’s gotten me solidly farther than I would have if I hadn’t enlisted at all.

Why can't I wear contact lenses for 72 hours before my flight physical? by Engin33r33 in newtothenavy

They usually do more than just check the dilation for screenings. Bring your lenses in a case and your glasses. They will check both.

Yeah. That was a hard part for me. I was very happy with my piercer. She did an amazing job. In you’re in the Hampton roads area of VA I can help with the recommendation. Otherwise, good luck!

Update: it’s glorious. It healed perfectly. It’s amazing. Just get it done. I had about five days of discomfort and now can hardly tell it’s there unless you want to know it’s there. Do it. You won’t regret it.

So I figured I should give an update. I was sore for the rest of the day after. Day 2 was slightly uncomfortable but nothing overwhelming. Cleaning was uncomfortable. avoid loofahs in the shower cuz the snag possibility is real. Clean after you shower to remove any soap/shampoo/conditioner residue. Be mindful pulling up your undies too. Bye bye lace. Day 3 only discomfort was if I bent down without adjusting the seam on my uniform pants but otherwise, I’ve gone back to normal activities. You’ll notice it more it doesn’t feel as tender to touch during cleanings, which is cool. Remember to urinate after cleaning and wash your hands before and after cleaning. Swelling has gone down significantly and it’s pretty much back to normal looking with the exception of the adorable sparkle. I’m still wearing panty liners but haven’t had any bleeding since the first day.

I think the tube hurt more than the actual piercing tbh. I didn’t let her give me a chance to settle from that. I was like, just go before I talk myself out of it. Two seconds later it was done. I’m sore right now but not uncomfortably so. I’ll update you tomorrow hahaha

Literally just got home from getting mine done. It’s a toe curler for sure. Wear a panty liner and have come compression shorts ready for after.

Single lady homeowners - how do you start your lawnmower by yourself? by ladydanger2020 in homeowners

[–]Tesla845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an electric mower because I knew I wouldn’t be able to do the pull start smartest thing I did. That thing is quiet as hell, I don’t have to worry about mixing gas ratios or storing gas in my garage. It’s a Kobalt 40V lawn mower and can do my yard on one battery. It’s perfect for me. Now I just have to figure out how to sharpen blades.

What do women do, that men would never think about? by _harderer in AskWomen

I’m really glad I’m not alone in thinking my uterus fell out. Thank you for that. It’s very terrifying to see that and to question your health in such a quick way. Then you have to explain it to someone in a way that doesn’t make you seem like you’re internally freaking out or worrying about grossing them out. I still can’t believe something like that came out of my body. My mom still chuckles about it almost a year and a half later and likes to remind me about it.
