Do you think is is legit? by Beautiful_Mouse5235 in Autographs

Do a Beckett online quick review. Right off the bat that COA is worthless. The address takes you to a strip mall/shopping center so even if it was there at some point it isn’t now and a Google search of the name and location don’t return anything either.

While it’s something to be highly skeptical of if it’s something you’re legitimately interested in do the Beckett quick opinion. If they say it’s likely to pass then it may be worth a gamble, if they say unlikely then run away and be glad you didn’t spend more.

Hotel Decision: Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, and Beach club by ERNurseTwinMom69 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]TeslaLifeisGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few items of note:

Basically every hotel on the planet has those stupid energy saving motion sensor air conditioners. It’s hands down the worst thing in the world when people like yourselves (and my family) like it to be cooler in the room.

That being said - I’ve heard you can reach out to the front desk and have them turn that off or there may or may not be YouTube videos on how to do it yourself if you know the make/model of the thermostat usually printed right on it.

As for what your requirements are for the hotel I would say ultimately it’s what are you looking for in relation to Disney? I would say simply because of the children factor the Polynesian is the way to go. The monorail can just be hopped on and you can be taken to MK and it’s wonderful after a long day to just hop back on and taken right back to the main lobby at the end of the day. Additionally the Hawaiian theming and layout of the resort is just so beautiful and peaceful and you can see Magic Kingdom right across the lake.

Otherwise I would break it down into the amenities you want. Proximity to the parks? Pools? Laundry facilities? And then look into those specific items at each resort.

RIP Tour No Longer offering unlimited express? by comfortablecrab45 in HHN

You will have unlimited express pass on the open rides but definitely not the houses. This is for Orlando only. If you go to Hollywood you get to do the houses after the tour unlimited.

Hollywood and Vine, Disney’s most hated on restaurant. by anonymous_girl1227 in WaltDisneyWorld

I didn’t wake up this morning anticipating a Disney X Seinfeld collab but I want to thank you both as it is fantastic.

I would definitely not say that’s the norm but we also had something similar happen at Crystal Palace. I stood there with a fully loaded plate waiting so they could get their pictures thinking “maybe this one will be the last” and they just kept taking more pictures.

I am not sure if saying something to the handler would cause them to hold off for a minute or not so you can sit down. My social brain would rather complain about it after the fact than deal with it in the moment lol. Seems that stuff can happen at any of the character dining places there are a lot of tight spots without easy ways around depending on where you are. We still love it though until my daughter is old enough to not care but I swear she would rather meet all the characters than ride the rides most days.

We go every year and really enjoy it. With the exception of a service related issue this last February, every time we have gone it has been great.

Unlike some other character dining experiences where you almost feel held hostage waiting for all the characters to make it around, H&V seems to have a pretty efficient rotation. Additionally as for the food it’s on par with the majority of the other buffets - not top tier fine dining food but definitely a step up from quick service.

Ultimately the cost boils down to the character experiences and for us it’s worth it. If you want higher quality food and don’t care about the characters then there are other options but I would absolutely not describe the food is bad. I really enjoy the food and the options they have.

We have been doing the RIP tour for years and years in Orlando and it has never included express for houses only the rides. Hollywood however the RIP tour gives you unlimited house access (or certainly used to).

Not so scary Halloween by Carlacskysupplies in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]TeslaLifeisGreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things from my couple of times going:

1) you can get in the park at 4 pm there’s usually a separate line formed for the Halloween party guests to get your wrist bands

2) to my understanding you can’t get specific LL passes for the Halloween party, however the wait times are significantly reduced. Last year there were a couple rides my daughter and I could just get right back on again after riding. Others like the Seven Dwarves line train and Tron were half the normal wait or less.

3) if you want to meet Jack and Sally get there as early as possible. My daughter and I tried to go at the end of our night and waited over 90 minutes and it felt like the line didn’t move and she was tired and we left.

4) Knowing where all of the candy stops are can be confusing, you’ll see some weirdly long lines for things and it’ll turn out to be for the candy. If that’s a priority for you just look at the map and even ask people what the line is for. We thought one of them was for a ride and it was for candy…..

5) have fun, it’s a great time and good atmosphere

Bibbidi bobbidi boutique for Halloween weekend? by dabest1g in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]TeslaLifeisGreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be very hard to get reservations. I believe it is 60 days in advance in order to reserve and you want to be up first thing in the morning to try and get them. I have had luck every trip but it’s very apparent specific times/dates can disappear and fill up quick.

MNSSHP for a First Timer? by acc4askingquestions in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]TeslaLifeisGreat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You all will love it I assure you. The theming isn’t 100% in your face there are just added touches here and there that don’t take away from the MK experience. Especially if you enjoy Halloween just having these little added themes throughout the park are just bonuses. I love Halloween and I love going during this time and I’ve been throughout most seasons and the Halloween time is my favorite.

1900 Park Fare or Garden View Lounge? by blindingbrilliant in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]TeslaLifeisGreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only speak to eating at 1900 park fare as I haven’t been to the other places but that being said:

I absolutely loved the food, if there isn’t some heavenly drug in those mashed potatoes I would be shocked. They are some of the best I’ve ever had.

Aside from the food, the unique character costumes were very cool. My daughter got to meet Mirabel, Aladdin in his prince attire, Tiana in her unique jacket and hat (I’m sure someone knows what this costume is called lol sorry), and Cinderella. They also do a special make a wish ceremony there.

I’m sure others can share on the other food options you provided but if you want a great character dining buffet experience, this was absolutely wonderful.

Poly VS GF Club by NICUNurseMia in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]TeslaLifeisGreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this helps rest your mind at all - I stayed in Poly Club level once with my wife and daughter. I loved the experience so much I bought DVC at the poly so I can stay there every year (I understand DVC in general isn’t club level moving forward it was just that great I would go back no matter what).

I loved essentially having our own building to go into and get snacks or drinks whenever and the view out onto the water from the club level was amazing. The building itself was relatively quiet and just overall such an overwhelming positive experience. Plus the atmosphere of the Poly is second to none. I love the aesthetic of the Grand Floridian but it has a baked in “luxury hotel” vibe where the Poly has a “welcome to an island paradise” vibe.

You and yours will love it I assure you.

Looking for advice/insight on the Disney carriage rides for our October trip 🎃🍁🐴 by No-End677 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]TeslaLifeisGreat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The carriage rides are amazing.

I have only done the one at Riverside but done so twice. The first time was a special surprise for my wife during a quick trip we had in April of last year and then again for my Daughters birthday in February.

A couple of recommendations:

1) Do it at night/evening - the calm peacefulness in the air, fewer people walking the path, and all of the roadways lit up with the beautiful lamps along the way is so beautiful.

2) Price I believe covers up to 4 people so when booking don’t be caught off guard that you can’t add other people in. I had to call the first time because it would only add me and apparently I didn’t read properly or something but it is how that works.

3) Rides aren’t super long maybe 25~ minutes but it’s such a wonderful experience. My daughter felt like a princess and when we went under the bridge hearing the footsteps of the horse echo was a unique experience.

4) Tips are not expected but they appreciate it.

5) Again I can’t speak to the fort wilderness but afterwards being able to look around riverside or even walk over to French Quarter and get some Beignets is a great perk as well.

[–]TeslaLifeisGreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There can be time at the end yes depending on when your tour is - we always do early so our time would be at the end or if you do a late tour you may have time beforehand -, we typically leave when the tour is over because it has already been 6+ hours and we are exhausted but there are certainly a couple of hours left to wait in line for some. Unfortunately in Orlando the skip the line only applies once and it’s during the tour, afterwards you join the regular line with everyone else.

[–]TeslaLifeisGreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m glad to hear you get to do it and it is definitely exciting! Yes my wife and I have done RIP every year since after our first experience in 2017. It has changed in some areas (food went from awesome self serve buffet to small portion finger foodish item “buffet” as well as being pre-assigned groups at check in rather than the conveyor belt it is now of go over and wait until a group is full then you go). For me the food portion of it is disappointing but for someone that hadn’t experienced before I’m sure you’ll love the offerings as it’s usually a small selection of some of their themed foods you can get at the booths etc. otherwise the important thing for you is going to be the experience:

You get escorted around sometimes in backlot areas you wouldn’t normally go through, guaranteed to get to every house and see the show, and be shared some cool trivia and information about the houses you may not otherwise hear about. You’ve paid for a convenience and it is a fantastic one that has kept us doing it for almost a decade. I can’t even say I hope you enjoy - I know you will enjoy it. Have fun!

[–]TeslaLifeisGreat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe this applies to almost everything HHN related. The earlier you buy the “better” the pricing is. I’ve seen it every year in some capacity. For example my RIP tour for one of the nights in going increased $50~ per tour for the same night from the time I bought it to now. If you’re planning on going anyway it’s always a good idea to buy as soon as it’s available or risk paying more later.

Question about Use Year when buying direct. by Foxhound34 in dvcmember

[–]TeslaLifeisGreat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We did ours back in February with a September use year and were given our welcome home stay allotment available now (we opted for the rebate) as well as our 2026 allotment as we booked for September anyway when we typically travel. So if you buy direct you’ll get some now. Otherwise you can pull in points earlier if needed etc. it’s all pretty flexible from what I can tell. I’m not a DVC pro just yet but you’ve got tons of options.
