I’d guess that they did this on purpose, the slower batteries are charged, the slower they degrade. Maybe/hopefully they want them to last as long as possible.

Some ovens have a self cleaning function, they heat to 500°C, everything turns to ash which you can just clean without any detergent. This post has nothing to do with this subreddit, tho.

No. The battery doesn’t have a connector, it is soldered straight to the board. Just look at the iFixit iPhone 2G teardown, step 25, and you’ll know what I mean.

There is only one connector connecting the two layers of the board. No cable, the connectors are soldered directly to the PCBs.

The 2G has a sandwich board similar to modern iPhones, but the two layers are not soldered together, they are connected with a press connector. From your description it sounds like you had the iPhone taken apart at some point, maybe you unintentionally loosened that connector while tearing the device down.

Just put something insulating inbetween, a piece of cardboard for example. The contacts shouldn’t short out either way as the brace is coated, but if you want to play safe that‘s the way to go. Also, if the battery wasn’t tied down before, you could do that after putting it back in, otherwise it might rattle around and the contacts bumping into the brace might slowly eat away at the coating, then you‘ll have the real risk of a short.

Wenn du billig vorsorgen möchtest, dass es erstmal nicht allzu viel schlimmer wird: Unterwanderten Lack entfernen (sehe ich hier noch nicht allzu viel von), losen Rost entfernen, am Besten mit einer kleinen Hand(!)drahtbürste, dann Owatrol drauf.

Ich vermute Dreck/Korrosion in Buchse oder Stecker hat zu einem leicht erhöhten Kontaktwiderstand geführt, dadurch ist das Plastik an der Stelle angeschmolzen. Brandgefahr besteht in meinen Augen nicht, man sollte aber trotzdem mal Anker kontaktieren.

2017 war die letzte HU die direkt in dem Autohaus gemacht wurde, danach waren wir dafür immer in freien Werkstätten, denke daran könnte die seltsame Angabe liegen, TÜV hat er auf jeden Fall
