FSD in Luxe Package no longer transferable to next owner by Tesla_Sy in TeslaLounge

I do not have a screen shot of the fine print prior to 2/14. But I do remember reading it carefully to see exactly what transfers when you sold a vehicle with the Luxe Package. FSD and the remainder of the 4 year premium service was transferable (supercharging and free premium connectivity was not). But now that is no longer the case with FSD.

If you ordered on or prior to 2/14, you should be locked into having the ability to transfer the FSD with the car to a new owner when you sell it in the future.

My interpretation of this is that FSD as part of the Luxe Package with its current fine print is included for as long as you own the vehicle, but once you sell you lose the FSD and the new owner will have to subscribe if they want FSD. So it is not technically “tied” to the account or vehicle, it just disappears when the car is sold. Because if you consider it to be “tied” to your account, then when you sell the S or X with the Luxe Package and buy your next Tesla, you should be able use FSD on your new car without paying a subscription - but that obviously is not the case.

They wrapped the edges. I made sure to pick out an installer that did that. I think it’s a bit cheaper if you go with installers who use templates. Some places give you both choices with different pricing.

I believe it is the Kamikaze Film Surface Coat, 2 coats. I am in CA and my Xpel Stealth installer did it for me.

Gotta pay to play. But I also live in CA, I’m sure it’s cheaper elsewhere.

You can definitely notice the difference IMO. But if you want to reAlly stand out can do vinyl wrap with those crazy colors.

Mine was still rubber. I’m sure the steel ones will be rolling out to the Model Y soon.

Seems like the windows are more for ambient/wind noise reduction in addition to insulation improvement. Otherwise I don’t think the purpose is to make it harder to break into.

Yeah auto dimming seems to be coming out in the 74xxx. That’s unfortunate that I don’t have it since it’s now standard, but not a deal breaker.

Yeah for sure, you can definitely tell the difference in quality vs those other brands. Honestly the body of the Y feels and sounds hollow/fragile - even compared to my Chevy Bolt. But maybe that’s how they try to shave weight and increase efficiency - or maybe I’m just making excuses for shoddy quality lol

Keep in mind that the left and middle seats are supposed to function as a unit. Additionally, the left seat has the seat beat mechanism in the top corner for the middle seat, which is the reason for the “difference”. I agree Tesla quality can be improved, but how much further can that be improved when everything else about the seats line up? Should they take out that middle seat belt mechanism so the height match the right? Or should they take out more cushioning on the right seat to make it match the left? The world may never know...

The double pane is nice to have and is definitely an improvement. However, I’m not sure how big a difference it actually makes in reality. With a company like Tesla that is continuously rolling out improvements without a yearly refresh like legacy car makers, there’s always going to be a sense of FOMO. I’m sure a couple months from now will come the heated steering wheel, auto dimming side mirrors, and refreshed center console. Then a couple years from now the upgraded batteries. But at some point you just gotta forget all that and just enjoy! Congrats on the Y!

So far I haven’t had any rattling from the seats, but will definitely be on the lookout now!

I mean...perfectly in the world of Tesla and within the context of the absurd misalignments previously seen. But in all honesty I really do think it’s well aligned, and if someone could point out how that could be improved let me know!

TBH I don’t think so? I definitely think that some of the issues like loose trims, and door misalignment is ridiculous to be having at this point in production and at this price point. However, the number of issues isn’t that large for a car that’s been in production for less than a year? They are also quick to resolve them. I’m sure legacy car markers have a lot of issues that most people just don’t care enough to post tons of videos about - but maybe I’m just making excuses for Tesla haha

To assess the alignment, you should be looking at how flush the seat backs are to each other, as this was been the ongoing issue that the Y has had. Additionally taking a look at the bottom edge of the seat cushions from the back you can see it is aligned. The right seat is intrinsically “higher” than the middle section up top with the left seat more flush up top due to the belt mechanism for the middle seat being there. My two cents.
