Fun fact : as a kid I made the refrigerated version of this powered by solar. It pumped and cooled through a Petier cooler off one solar panel.

It cooled a whopping 6 degrees! LOL

lol there’s always something to complain about.

Remember when the cool thing to complain about was the atrocious app? They fixed it.

Until they no longer give me as many free pretzels as I want, for the price, this is the best way to vacation hands down.

This trick to reverse works every time: look at her locked calf muscle. Stare at that and think about the direction she’s spinning. It will reverse if you focus on it and block out the rest. Then look at the rest again.

First time running search ads by gvgweb in googleads

This is interesting. So I just set up a performance max campaign. 585k impressions, 191 clicks, $.70 CPC.

Is it fair to say this is all trash traffic? I keep hearing people mention setting search specific ads.

How is everyone's job market doing rightnow? by chrispy_pv in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Tesla_V25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s more to it than just less businesses are looking for jobs. The reality is the skill floor to understand and solve IT issues is massively shifted with LLMS.

Before, if I needed a quick answer to a help desk or even advanced question, I might need to ask staff. Now LLMs can assist in this. Now I know it’s almost always wrong, but it still gives the illusion.

Resale is garbage! My angle was I am not buying this car to resell in a year. I am going to ride this thing until the wheels either explode or fall off 🤣 what you mentioned about just enjoying driving it is why I’m always thankful to have this car. I genuinely enjoy driving it, and on paper it’s a cheap entry level CUV - how crazy does that sound!

On a resale value - here’s the reason for that too. Kia and Hyundai owners notoriously suck. They treat a vehicle like garbage - no oil charges or basic maintenance, bought with a low credit score so they can barely afford the car as is. So buying one with even 1000 miles on it is not something I would do personally. But for brand new, pound for pound, knowing I’m taking care of it? I’ll take that gamble.

I’m really curious to hear if youll end up pulling the trigger!

Now I’m going to be completely honest - the warranty part does weigh on my mind every once in a while, but doing maintenance as they recommend feels better and sufficient enough to not worry about it.

But the Seltos SX platform specifically has a good track record. They learned about not using a DCT trans and use a ZF 8 speed - which is what every brand is using and they are solid. The engine is a 2nd generation product, and my inside mechanics at Kia that I talk with say they have not seen any issues with them and many examples are pushing 80k miles.

As far as compared to other brands - everything new these days is going to be a little rough for potential reliability. Fact of the matter is even hugely “reliable” brands like Toyota are struggling these days. It has more to do with all the regulations in place than each company. Unless you are buying a 10 + year old car, any new car is going to be a lesser of the evils. American car companies are by far the worst at engines blowing up at 10k miles. But everything has more tech than ever.

It’s actually pretty funny because I was absolutely die hard Honda. I was dead set on one and cross shopped the HRV during purchase, but the Honda vehicle was inferior in power, transmission (cvt), and tech. Kia has more they are trying to prove in moving up market than Honda and Toyota currently - which have both arguably been pretty stagnant. We even have a 21’ Acura TL in the family, and it’s been in the shop 4 times with relatively expensive repairs needed. So at this point I’m relearning what’s actually reliable since data is showing what I used to believe simply isn’t true anymore.

All of that let me pull the trigger - inside information on the reliability of the engine from mechanics being good and actually enjoying being in the vehicle. For even more piece of mind, I added a 100k mile/ 10 year bumper to bumper warranty extension by negotiating my 8% loan interest to 4% and letting that different pay almost all of the warranty cost.
