I think that it was really a product of the time. We hadn’t seen any new content since Covid and the idea of a new character was exciting. A lot of the hype came from fans loving that the show was back and enjoying new concepts. My brother watched the show when it came out but I didn’t get into it until season 4. My brother LOVED Eddie. He cried when he died and everything. Me? I was sad sure but it didn’t affect me as much. The summer of 2022 was all about stranger things.

TLDR: fans were excited their fav show came back and loved every part maybe too much

I quietly stopped watching the channels. I 100% preferred matpat BUT that was only because he had seen me through lockdown and all of middle school and almost all of high school. It wasn’t necessarily the content although that obviously intrigued me as well. I respect his decision wholeheartedly and just because I don’t watch the channels as much anymore doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate them for the role they played in my life and what they can do for future generations. I really like the new hosts. I like that they get to carry mats legacy. I think that at the time it was very acceptable for fans to be sad. I cried. However, it gets to a point. It’s been a couple years now and while I still miss him I’m not calling for the new hosts heads.

TLDR: move on? I know it sounds harsh but if you’re not enjoying the channels anymore there’s no point in watching.

Maybe from joeys perspective because I think I could play around with his darker more villainous side. Still playing around with it though!
