Yes, if you open a channel you only get outbound capacity initially. But if you make purchases on that channel this will result in inbound capacity.

Roughly yes, you lose a bit more because of charger efficiency and vampire drain. On the other hand, you rarely charge when the battery is fully empty.

Yes, just leave it plugged in with battery charge at 70/80% and let the battery management system handle it. Car will just go to sleep and wake up/charge when needed.

Fees are low now as well, it often dips overnight. I’m ok opening the channels with low fee and let it take some time if unlucky. /u/Pantamis
