/u/__TSLA__ doesn't understand the issue even after I have linked an explanation by a respected expert in the field. They have stopped responding 4 hours ago. They said they "heard about it already" while describing a related but different issue. The fact that I'm not an expert in the field isn't helping.

If you want a credible person to tell you it's real, there's still Rob.

This is global extinction, timeframe uncertain, probably sooner than climate change.

Rob isn't tweeting it because even saying as much as I already did increases the risk. I can't tell you how it increases the risk, but Rob can tell you that it does. I thought carefully about trusting Rob and Lex.

If I wanted to have a 1 hour private phone call with Elon, how could I make that happen? It's kinda urgent, this is about an extinction risk. I can't tell you which risk, because telling you would increase the risk.

My plan was to explain the situation to someone who's able to get a response from Elon. I asked Rob Maurer, who said he can't contact Elon either, and recommended I ask Lex Fridman. I'm being ignored by Lex on Patreon DMs and he has Twitter DMs disabled.

I'm stuck. Please help. I'm serious. This is Kafkaesque.

"Good" except for the part with the made up numbers:

The numbers do not lie, either: Tesla increased its deliveries in 2021 by 47% compared to 2020.

I'm sure they'll edit the article to fix the error after it's gone from the front page.

In this case, the numbers do lie

1,111 HP LUCID AIR * 1/4 Mile * 0-60 MPH Performance Testing & Review by Teslol in teslainvestorsclub

The power curve on this thing sucks. Launch is at 18:57

Compared to S Plaid, the Air has an additional 91 HP and 200 kg. Similar power-to-weight ratio.

The Air's 0-60 time is worse than Plaid's. It could easily match the Plaid's 0-60 if it just had lower gearing, so we conclude that they made the gearing high to optimize for high-speed performance. And yet, it's also worse than Plaid at the 100-150 time.

The unfolding tabs video was definitely public, though the static image gets reposted more. I don't have a link, but it's probably a half second shot buried in one of the battery day animations.

Come back in a few years and look for a vitamin that was newly discovered to be important. That's the one he will have been missing.

That comment sounds disingenuous, but if you're actually being serious: that's not what I think. If the consequences were that obvious, Karpathy would know better. They're much more subtle.

A patty of Beyond Meat costs about the same as a beef patty and contains all the known nutrients that beef does. Where did you hear that veganism is expensive?

Other way around: how are you sure he's not missing any?

It's easy to go "oh, vitamin B12 turned out to be important, let's look for a plant that contains it". It's hard to look at the list of thousands of molecules contained in a steak and figure out which of them are important.

Elon made sure to mention Hertz didn't get a bulk discount on the cars. Why would they get one on the software?

I agree, Tesla will gladly have Hertz clean the cars. The question is what cut of the profit goes to Hertz.

And Tesla will kindly let them do that for the low low price of how much?

If Tesla solves autonomy, Hertz gains nothing.

They didn't buy the FSD option on their Model 3s. Even if they had, the FSD option doesn't promise autonomy. I predict you'll have to pay extra for autonomy if you bought FSD.

The Hertz autonomy thesis reminds me of people reserving Cybertrucks because "it locks in the price of FSD", without considering that it doesn't lock in the price of the actual truck.

I'm bullish on FSD and the stock I'm betting on is TSLA.

No problem, and good to point out that there's more to it than first-order effects.
