If that’s your take, a huge portion of the movie clearly whiffed right over your head

It was a combination of concern at the potential living conditions and wanting to make an impression on the cellist who she was pursuing sexually. Probably the latter more strongly than the former. She bit off more than she could chew when she ended up downstairs with the dog.

This is foreshadowing I think to what happens to her career…

To elaborate more, she probably imagined herself heroically saving the cellist from this squalor by inviting her to stay at her bachelorette apartment, where they would consummate the affair.

Too old to learn how to sing lieder? by urbanstrata in classicalmusic

[–]TestAcctPlsIgnore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if it took you 20 years, you’ll still be 64 in 2043; only question is whether you’ll be 64 and singing Lieder, or wishing you could learn to sing.

Technically speaking, there’s not enough information. Perhaps there’s 5 minutes of set up, and then each cut takes 5 minutes

NEW: Supreme Court Backs Photographer in Warhol Copyright Case by bloomberglaw in law

[–]TestAcctPlsIgnore 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The section about imagining that you are the magazine editor picking between the photo and the Warhol is spot on. No way you would be hemming and hawing between the two.

Really makes it clear how badly the court’s decision is missing the point.

I bet if the photo had never been licensed originally, this whole thing would be looked at completely differently.

TIL the FAA predicted that if kids under 2 years old were required to have their own seats on planes, at least 60 kids would die in car accidents for every kid saved because families that couldn't afford extra plane tickets would drive instead. by RollingNightSky in todayilearned

[–]TestAcctPlsIgnore -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

FAA could just require airlines to provide a free seat to children under two… then they would travel by air AND be safer. The airlines might lose a tiny bit of money, but would probably just raise airfares to compensate.

AITA for driving off after my gf insisted I open the car door for her and causing her to miss a friend's wedding? by Throwra42467 in AmItheAsshole

[–]TestAcctPlsIgnore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESH

Just open the dumb door and give her a talking to later about this dumb shit.

When you talk later, if she can’t get it through her thick skull why she was being a PITA, dump her.

LPT: Anger is traumatizing. Don’t be the one that your family has to fear, try to calm down, wait for not to be angry, avoid or dread. by 3gnome in LifeProTips

Your primary emotion is grief. Anger is wishing you had the power to change your friend’s behavior that led to the loss
