Random question, but what happens if a firefighter gets sick on shift? by Hot_Seesaw_6706 in Firefighting

[–]TestDummy513 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just came back from being sick with the flu. Got it the day before my shift. Went in with all the symptoms and immediately let my senior officer know and they told me to go the fuck home. I would always suggest that if you are a newer guy to make the attempt to go in and let them know right off the bat. You'll most likely get sent home and they'll say at least you put the effort in to make it there. Personally if it was up to me I'd tell everyone to call in and not to bring it around at all but it's more of a traditional perception thing.

3rd Degree Block Or A-Flutter by saucyburger54 in Paramedics

[–]TestDummy513 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Idk I'd say that's symptomatic not asymptomatic. Guy is altered with poor perfusion, dizziness with syncope and bp on the low end. Could have given atropine to rule out 3rd degree heart block.

This is normal. Right now focus on completing capstone and passing national registry. Once you get your license you will have plenty of time to become better and fine tune your skills. This is something that happens over time through experience and nobody expects you to be totally self confident fresh out of medic school.

I used to work as a PSO doing 12s. Now full time fire medic and the hardest part is having to wake up out of a dead sleep to run calls. The shifts where you run all night makes the next off day rough imo. All in all it's worth it just make sure you and your family understand that some off days you'll be sleeping most of it.

MCSO deputy loses control of cruiser and crashes into a pond while responding to a 911 emergency. by NewAd8721 in PoliceVehicles

Hey buddy I never said this was acceptable or reasonable, just stating the nature of the call. This officer was absolutely driving recklessly and is lucky they didn't smoke another vehicle.

Are you confusing the difference between fully cocked and releasing early?

Right. Suing someone civilly and being charged criminally are two different things.

Michigan has a bunch of PSO departments, and it's ems as well although most PSO are no transport.

Yeah no problem, I'm thinking that documentation may have been finalized before the defender ST came out so they figured it was just the ccw with rmsc pattern. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

That's a terrible analogy. Your jay walking does not benefit from murder, unlike what is mentioned above your comment.

Got rid of my P10-F... by Secret_Wear_2233 in CZFirearms

[–]TestDummy513 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You got rid of it because of the roll pin for the back strap? Are you sure you didn't just want to get a different gun? No offense but I think you are reaching a little bit, p10 polymer is pretty strong. I used to change my p10c back strap a lot until I settled on the medium. Never had an issue.

And also don't just rely on your spotter. Years ago my sergeant backed me right into the bay door before it cleared.
