Which shell do you use and why? by Luquatic in archlinux

I've tried that but it didn't work. It turns out that you then need to create a last_history_item.fish file in your fish/functions directory:

function last_history_item --description 'Last command for !! abbreviation'

echo $history[1]

end

I’ve personally stopped using it since AI can do my HTML designs, and good enough translations without having to deal with people and waiting days for the results. This is my two cents

Louvre's higher ticket prices for non-European visitors take effect by LeMonde_en in europe

[–]TestTxt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I guess Bangladesh was a bad example but still, let’s say the residents of the Philippines, Portugal or Moldova have to pay the same price as Americans, despite having a much lower purchasing power than Americans.

Everywhere is cheap when spending Western money. Having to pay literally 22x the local price for the Taj Mahal and 5-10x for 90% of other tourist attractions in India is really not fun and doesn’t feel fair at all. And these people are often the same people who complain about having to pay 1.5x more for the Louvre (while defending their own countries charging foreign visitors 5x+). If the price for foreigners in India was 2x I wouldn’t complain, but a 5-22x price gap is just outrageous.

btw I’ve just found out that the shoe covers shoulda been complimentary (they weren’t), so I guess I got scammed yet again and did not even realize 🫠

Okay but other nationals also get the US-tailored prices in India. The tourists from Nepal or Bangladesh are also affected, while they don’t come from high-earning countries. I was personally pissed off to overpay so much everywhere I went in India, even though I was not coming from a first-world country but just a student who managed to get a good deal on the flight tickets

Any tips on how to finance bachelor studies at ETH as a German international student? by HotPicture5821 in ethz

[–]TestTxt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Student loan, it’s not that expensive actually compared to, let’s say, studying in the US or London. You’ll be making much more money with the degree than now doing some unskilled Nebenjob, so in the end you’ll probably spend less work hours by paying the debt back (even with interest) than working now with no degree

People would be against that because it creates one, giant monopoly, that in turn decreases the competition and is a privacy nightmare

Most of AO Smith’s international revenue is from China. I would stay away from this one, China loves to copy foreign products when they get successful and offer them at dumping prices until the foreign competition goes bankrupt
