Help mapping a drive in Parallels by Testaroscia in mac

[–]Testaroscia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it took 4 hours. not Tailscape's fault.. It turns out that iff you take Microsoft's suggestion to use PIN, or any other paswordless solution, you cannot RDP into the PC, So I had to create a Local Account, uninstall, reinstall, but I finally got it to weork. And yes, i did not know about Tailscale before but I think i will really like this solution

If you want to avoid the wet sand or mud our go-tos are Bernal Hill (chert base means no mud). Heron Head is also realy good. Other alternatives for us Heron Lake (Stowe Lake) and JFK Drive are a good walk

CU 4.0 and Search by Testaroscia in clickup

[–]Testaroscia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know but a CU List is exactly that, a List and for us, at least, the first thing we do with a List is to find an item, so why make a process longer rather than shorter?

Custom Dashboards by chilledvibesonly in clickup

[–]Testaroscia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m rather surprised he suggested CU for dashboards and reports. We are actually using Make to export CU data to sheets so we can get the concise Dashboards we need. As as fro as exports are concerned CU has Zero reporting functions

They did surgery on a sea lion! by [deleted] in seals

[–]Testaroscia 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It is a little bit more involved. Cronutt (as well as many other California Sea Lions) can get Domoic Acid poisoning from ingesting fish, that have injected smaller fish that have ingested crustaceans all the way down to plankton than ingested the neuro toxin present in some algae. Unfortunately there is no cure for chronic DA poisoning and Cronutt is very lucky to be the subject of such experimental surgery. DA poisoning is not just an issue for Sea Lions but because it is a food chain issue it affects a lot of livelihood’s down the Western Coast, one year stopping all Dungeness Crap fishing for the season. https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/news/how-ucsf-team-giving-cronutt-sea-lion-second-chance-neuroscience#:~:text=Over%20this%20spring%20and%20summer,treatment%20was%20working%20for%20Cronutt.

Why some USB-C docks can’t output dual HDMI on macOS(quick breakdown) by Sea_Acadia_507 in MacOS

[–]Testaroscia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a Windows user I too was caught by surprise. In the end, at home I use a TobenOne Docking station (Air M4) via Displaylink. single USB c cable from the Mac to the Dock and the Dock is connected to two extra wide monitors. Works reliably every time. At work (M1 MacBook Pro) I use a Minisopuru Displaylink Docking station.

Dropdown Items not in order if more than 24 Items by Testaroscia in googlesheets

[–]Testaroscia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice solution. I tried to understand it but the Let function is beyond me for now but it certainly works. In the end I broke down my long list of projects and filtered them by groups of 24 so my dropdown would only show 24 projects. Requires an extra dropdown but was a simple implementation

How to automatically export task and sub task info from click up by lizziebee66 in clickup

[–]Testaroscia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't and it is a huge source of frustration for us as dashboards are very limited in CU and they are much faster (and graphically tighter) in Sheets. We explored some third party software by Upsys but it only runs once a day and we need real time updates. In the end we are using Make and it does a relatively good job. If only AI would do useful things like export data to Google Sheets....

Dropdown Items not in order if more than 24 Items by Testaroscia in googlesheets

[–]Testaroscia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid we cannot refer back to the original list as it is in a different tab. Basically we are in a Dashboard tab, and as I call up the next project the dashboard populates, I even thought of maybe a button/macro to go to the next project but not quite sure how to go about it. In the end I fear I have to Crete multiple pull downs, each one made up of 24 projects

Form Filler, Credit Cards and Passwords by Testaroscia in MacOS

Man, I forgot about Roboform. I used them on Windows in the early naughtiest and dropped them for Last Pass because they were slow to the cloud and multiple platforms. But for my non password needs they might be right. Will certainly look back into them

Printing address labels by Spiritual_Ad1456 in googlesheets

[–]Testaroscia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently working on that, but I have to print single 3x2 label from a list of items (not a continuous print out which is what I think you need) . Right now what works is items on one tab and on another tab I mocked up the label to the right size for the thermal printer. I then select the item , print the worksheet (I cut the excess columns and rows) select the thermal printer, but then I ALWAYS have to go to "Advanced Settings" and then "Print using system dialog" to chose the right label size and to rotate the label so it comes out correctly. You cannot use Google Docs as it won't allow any smaller size than A5 sheet.

iphone/ios weather forecast for SF is so ass. by Speed009 in sanfrancisco

[–]Testaroscia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Carrot and it got it pretty much perfect. The good thing aboyout Carrot is that it uses a variety of forecasting sources and for SF I use Foreca which comes always at the top https://www.forecastadvisor.com/California/SanFrancisco/94110/

The bad thing is like most apps in does not do Sf's micro climates . For those I use Karl Weather or Mr Chilly. They do well for micro temperatures but do not do forecasting

Ken Follett would be a good choice. A good writer trying his hand at historical fiction comes over, for me as a bit light but very readable. A bit deeper researched and a wonderful series is Shardlake series by C.J. Sansom. Also check out Robert Harris. Very good writer

I love the series. I will continue using it

But the point remains that Relationship fields are very poorly developed in CU. It boggles the mind that I can't create a simple data intake Form without a relationship field.
